Even in his pre draft interviews you could recognize, that there was not a lot between his ears. Seems even this is gone. It is also insane to see, that a guy with all the tools to become a superstar just can not achieve anything significant in the NHL or other pro leagues at this point.

biggest draft bust in ducks history

Oh, Nick Ritchie.

Ritchie's so weird because for a "power forward" he always seemed like a gentle oaf, in that he was never really punishing and mostly took bad stick infractions. Except for the times where something just snapped, like this and the time he just completely suckered Roszival and knocked him out after a scrum.

This one is insane though, like the first shot was bad enough, how do you keep going when a guy is on the ground covering his head.

Roszival kinda did it to himself. Perry got taken out, Ritchie stood up and saw Roscival was responsible, and it was at a time when the officials weren’t protecting our stars at all, Ritchie faced off with him, Roscival stuck his chin out to dare him to punch him, and, well… know your meathead.

Ritchie is a meathead and an idiot though, not disputing your basic premise in any way shape or form.

only thing ritchie did wrong in that situation was not waiting for roszival to also drop the gloves. a gloved punch or face plant would've sufficed too. but no issue with him sticking up for perry there

Yeah, but he did end the guy’s career. Don’t get me wrong, daring Ritchie to punch you in the face to draw a penalty is a “play stupid games win stupid prizes” decision on Roscivsl’s part.

roszival clearly wasn't aware that ritchie is a low IQ hothead

I wonder why we're not getting constant Lindholm updates this season like last season.

*goes and checks Lindholm's stats*

Oh.

He's definitely not having the offensive season he had last year that is for sure. He is currently on pace to end the season with just 21 points compared to 49 last season. Everyone in Boston was due to regress after that historic regular season last year, but he's not been as good.

I don't watch Boston consistently but he still plays good defense. However, 7 years left... IMO if Lindholm was willing to go 4-5 years, he'd be a Duck right now. But then the Ducks probably don't have Carlsson.
