You missed the point. He didn't score more because he was always injured, playing hurt. So you saying that his 30 goal season came out of nowhere was wrong. He was in fact expected to do this much earlier, just couldn't do it or repeat because his body let him down. Might be something for a different thread though.
I'll bring the discussion to this thread.
I always thought Eaves had more to give and was underrated. It was satisfying to see him really hit his stride in that career year and I honestly thought it could be somewhat sustainable if he was on Getz's wing.
That being said, Murray did somewhat overpay to acquire Eaves. He bought at a top 6 forward price and to
@Paul4587's point, Eaves wasn't really that for the majority of his career.
It's a shame what happened to him. Both for his sake and the team's.
