I wonder what Lindholm is thinking? Traded to Boston, signs a long term deal (with a bit of a hometown discount) and not it looks like Boston will be retooling, if not tearing it down. He got to play in one playoff series, but I feel bad for the guy (not suggesting he did anything wrong).

Will be interesting to see what Boston does. McAvoy and Pastrnak are still young guys so it's hard to imagine them doing a full rebuild. Losing Marchand and Bergeron would hurt a lot and they are not easily replaced even with the money that would become available.

Boston really dropped the ball in that 2015 draft. If they hit on just one of those picks they had they’re in a way better place. Now they basically have two elite pieces in their mid twenties to build around and a whole bunch of meh. Maybe Swayman pans out also but there are still multiple holes in that roster.

I’m sure he doesn’t regret a $50+ million commitment

they won't go into a full rebuild, but a "rebuild on the fly" doesn't seem like a bad idea

He could have got that money a lot of places this offseason. I'm sure he thought he was signing with a perennial playoff team. The money is important, but I'm sure he's tired of losing.

A Boston beat writer on the Athletic is painting a pretty bad picture - potential full rebuild. Even talk of trading Pasternak because he would bring a huge haul to accelerate that.

i'd be surprised if they completely tore it down with how young pastrnak and mcavoy are

i know he'd wipe his tears with $100 bills, but i'd still feel bad for lindholm if the bruins went into a rebuild considering he wasn't down to stay in anaheim anymore for the same reason

I dunno, I don't buy that he didn't want to stick around for a rebuild. I think all he wanted was term, and since he wasn't going to get it with the Ducks (specifically WE didn't want to give any term to HIM, not the other way around) he was going to get it elsewhere.

Sucks going to a team on the downswing, but it is what it is.

I hope that Tampa and NY can make their series go 7 to give Cogs some time to recover. Did they say what was wrong with Kadri?

Avalanche vs. Lightning in Stanley Cup finals means that former Ducks Josh Manson and Andrew Cogliano for the Avalanche will win the Cup or Corey Perry and Pat Maroon for the Lightning will win the Cup.
