Even though Sonny's play dropped off like milk that's been in the fridge for too long, I would've thought he would get a contract over a PTO. He's worth maybe 1-1.5 for a team with struggling offense.

Ive always contended that there are different kinds of being "in-shape" depending on what its for. He can probably be a few pounds lighter now that hes not taking hits to the body. Different diet, different conditioning for now being retired.

And agreed, I was happy to see him around and involved. Lets hope that trend continues.

I think a lot of teams had the same concerns. He looked good playing with 1 guy, played a pretty one dimensional game and then fell off at the end of the season. My guess, he didnt want a 2-way deal and this was the result of that., but thats just speculation.

Went with Perry as my fourth (Getz, Selanne, and PK) because he was my first thought so I went with my gut, but Giguere is just as deserving of it imo. I still think he should have had his number in the rafters before Niedermayer.

I went back and forth between Niedermayer and Giguere. I ultimately chose Niedermayer because he has continued to work with the club after retirement.
