He said he doesn't know. It was a long shot since he's in Marketing not customer service.
Well, appreciate you checking in. Kinda glad that your buddy isn’t in customer service because frankly, it sucks. My account was hacked on Tuesday evening and it took until Sunday for someone to reach out and start helping.

That sucks. Customer service doesn't usually have the best and brightest. (I hope I'm not offending anyone here from customer service).

I think Flores showed his true colors again today after the Texans hired Lovie Smith:

Love the swipe at Lovie Smith (for literally no reason). Man alive. What an asshole.

He’s already on to phase two, ‘they’re blackballing me’, because phase one just blew up in his face

Dude sounds like a complete dick. Makes you think it was the reason why Miami let him go, but that team doesn't have a stellar record on coaching/management. This comment does not help his case.

I still think he is a good coach. He gets a lot out of his teams and has done really well. This only dismisses the discrimination aspect of his claims. The tanking claims are still out there, but if he is not telling the truth about the discrimination, people are going to be less likely to believe that he is telling the truth about the tanking.

He did learn from Belicheck, and while that style works when you have more rings than fingers on one hand, you can really be that way if you are a new coach and you are also not the GM.

Belichick's coaching tree hasn't had much success in th NFL. Until a few years ago Bill O'Brien was his best disciple until he left the Texans as a smoking crater. Until a few weeks ago it was Flores. Flores' replacement at Miami is biracial and qualifies the 49ers for extra draft picks for developing him.

I actually think that the simplest method to improve minority hiring are incentive programs like the NFL already has. The incentives should maybe be increased, though. Maybe the team gets a 2nd round comp pick for a head coach position.

Really think the NFL and NCAA should be working hand in hand on this. You see this new wave of coaches are in their late 30s taking over squads. You want to see change, get these guys that are 4-5 years at a university and set up a program that if they are undrafted or drafted after day 2 (4th round and later) they automatically get enrolled in a coaching program at the NCAA level and can join the program whenever they decide to stop playing to get into coaching.

This is obviously a bigger picture kind of thing, but I don't think you address this issue in a short term, top level thinking. Starting at the NCAA level, including D2 and D3 schools, you've got plenty of jobs and opportunity for players to work their way up through the NFL.

The only thing will be is that this would take 10-20 years before you see the fruits of the labor. I do not foresee a singular solution to this.

Honestly that halftime show was underwhelming, after all the build up. Of course there's a ton of nostalgia there, but there was no "wow" moment to the whole thing. Eminem's lip syncing was horrible, too. All in all, I feel like it was "fine," but didn't come close to the hype.

Game is pretty good, too. Bengals have that "team of destiny" vibe for sure.

I loved it, was alot of fun and I liked how bright the set was as opposed to most years where it’s super dark and neon

The problem with the NFL and diversity is that the people who ultimately call the shots, with two or three exceptions, are all old white people who really don't give a shit at all about the diversity of their organization or the NFL as a whole. They care to the extent that the media makes people pay attention--as soon as shit falls out of the headlines, they go back to not caring. Their primary focus is making money and winning (ostensibly). Unless something impacts their ability to make money or win, they just aren't going to care.

This isn't really much different than other entities in corporate America that are controlled overwhelmingly by old white guys. And unfortunately, unless there is an actual cultural shift, this is just how it's going to be. Beyond the surface hideousness of offering perks for hiring people of color and other minorities, it's like slapping a bandaid on a gangrenous compound fracture. The gross goop may stop leaking out and it may look better from afar, but the rot is still festering away underneath and it's an area that will hobble the body until it's properly addressed.

I'm not going to place singular blame on old white guys here, either. I work for a very progressive organization that is really committed to ARO work and diversity practices, so much so that I have to intervene sometimes and remind my departments it's not okay to not hire this really qualified individual just because he's a straight white guy and you want a diversity hire.

The NFL is a f***ing financial juggernaut that is basically beholden to no one. These things are just distractions for the owners. It's unfortunate but it's reality.
