Thank God we're Rangers fans. Imagine being an Islanders/Giants or Islanders/Jets fan nowadays. Yes, I realize that during the Bush and Obama adminstrations the Giants won two Super Bowls.

We've won one Cup in 84 years...I am a Giants fan & yes this decade has sucked, but at least I can vividly remember them winning it all 4 times. The Rangers are a sad sack in comparison.

I was only a fan for two. As I've said many times I'm an outlier but I'd rather root for a team consistently in the playoffs that doesn't win than a championship once or twice and are bottom of the league the rest of the time.

There's been one season since they won in '94 where I thought they were actually a contender to win it all. Making the playoffs or winning a round honestly does nothing for me. Not saying I want them in the lottery every year, but I don't feel like Rangers fans should hold a superiority complex over the rest of the region.

NYC sports is pretty f***ing pathetic, however. I'm 52 years old & the The Knicks have won once in my lifetime, when I was about 21 months old. The Mets have won once in my lifetime & the Jets have never won in my lifetime. f*** the Isles & the Devils, they don't f***ing count. Thank god for the Yanks & Giants history (Giants history is pretty sad too without those 4 SBs) but now even they suck balls. This is truly a sports wasteland. Boston fans have every f***ing right to laugh their asses off at our pathetic teams.

But Giants history is starting to get close to Cowboys history where it's a joke. Like can you brag to Eagles/Bills/Bengals fans about your 4 rings? If I were a fan of either of those teams I'd laugh in your face for living in the past.

I wouldn't brag to anyone about sports teams because it's pointless. If anyone wants to laugh in my face about the pathetic sports teams I root for, good for them. My life isn't so bad, my GF is very attractive, I own 2 classic cars & the only debt I have is my current car payment. Perspective matters.

The Cowboys have won 5 SBs & were the team of the 70s & the 90s. Like the Giants, they have a proud history & a pathetic history since Jerry fired JJ.

Ok, when the Rangers are losing 82-7 over the course of two games against their biggest rivals do you feel better because of something that last happened almost 12 years ago?

Honestly I don't give a shit either way. Sports is a nice distraction, but it's not life or death. Once the game ends, I'm on to doing other things. Obviously losing in the playoffs sucks a little more & if we ever lost a Game 7 of the Finals, it would certainly bug me for a few days. But honestly the high of winning it all would wear off just as quickly. Do I want to see them win again before I die, absolutely. Will it change my life either way, not a chance.

...Yes!

I was 6 when the Rangers won it all.

If this franchise had to endure what the Giants are facing but it resulted in Stanley Cup wins, most if not all of us wouldn't hesitate to sign on the dotted line!

you seem like a good dude who likes to hang on our boards way more than the Isles board. Why not just convert to Red White & Blue already & you'll be a lot happier.
because my hatred for your franchise started in 1991 and there are somethings you can't forget but now that my dad has passed(the guy who basically started my love for hockey and the isles) i tend to not care so much anymore if the rangers are winning and we are looking to the draft. We had our chances during covid and i realized i probably wouldn't see a cup in my lifetime with him alive(born july 84 right after they lost to the oilers and haven't been back). During the 90s and early 00s my hate probably peaked because we had good fights in the stands or even wars on the ice but since we haven't even had a playoff match since 94 the "hate" has died down for me. And another thing i married a rangers fan so we all know how that goes if i start mocking her after you guys lose a game.

I'd rather having watched my team win 4 superbowls in the last 40 years rather than be told a fairy tale about the jets winning their only Superbowl during the Nixon administration.
