Aaron Rodgers is such a Woody Johnson move. Short term. Big name.

Lamar Jackson has not finished the last two seasons. Ankle in 2021 and a knee in 2022. I had Lamar on a few Underdog Best Ball teams. The guy has no one to catch the ball. Bateman got hurt last season. Andrews disappeared about the first couple of months. The Ravens haven’t really surrounded Lamar with great personnel. Baltimore traded Hollywood Brown last offseason. Baltimore took a safety and a center in the first round last year.

Jets were a QB away from a good season. The only way to get a good QB long term is to keep drafting them until 1 works out. Until then sign veteran free agents short term to keep cap and draft costs down. Any QB worth trading for isn't available.

I have no problem with top QBs getting paid. I'm just not sure Jones is one of them.

Saquon got screwed and all RBs do under the current RB tag system.

Rodgers, Lamar, whoever for the Jets. But you absolutely can’t run that same scam again running out trying to hide a QB all season.

They owe the fans this. They sold PSLs and have been running out bullshit at QB since. No one wants to watch that again - not players, not fans. They have to come away with someone and take their shot. It all has risks.

There's literally no problem with that deal.

The Giants are contending are there's no other option at QB. They would be more expensive if there were.

The term is good. If he's not the guy, you move on. If he is that guy, you end up getting him for what looks like a good deal in a couple of years.

Lol, what? It's an incredibly team friendly deal. We can get out after 2 years.

And you lower his cap hit this upcoming season compared to what it would have been under the franchise tag.

The Ravens ESPN guy has been saying he wants a fully guaranteed contract like Watson. Before the 2022 season, they offered him a 5 year, $250 million deal with $133 million fully guaranteed at signing and he turned it down. BAL is basically betting that no one gives him the deal he wants.

Two first round picks for Lamar. Woody should spend the money on Lamar. Give it to him. Guarantee the contract. Let the Ravens match if they want him.

Rodgers is a much better option than Lamar for the Jets. No way I'm guaranteeing his full contract after seeing what happened with Kyler/Watson/Russ contracts being disasters before the ink was dry. The team that drafted him and he won an MVP with doesn't even want to do it. Combine that with the fact that hes injury prone and rumors during the season and playoffs that he was making a "business decision" with the Knee injury.

Rodgers gives them a great 2 year window to win a Super Bowl before they need to start giving big money to Sauce, Wilson, etc.

That's why the Jones deal is great. If he isn't the guy, you can get out after year 2.
Yeah its basically a 2-3 year deal. For 3 years it is $112 mill which is $37.5 mill a season.

The salary goes up in the 4th year but that is not guaranteed.

Spending draft picks (and it would take more than 2 1sts) and a masive guaranteed contract for a QB who missed 9 games the past 2 years and never played a full season. What could possibly go wrong?

You mean compared to the guy who allegedly sexually assaulted 20+ women?

If the Jets go after Lamar Jackson they are basically saying we dont even know you exist to their #2 overall QB from 2 years ago.

The Jets could get Shane Falco and they would be saying that.

The best thing Wilson will ever do is bang a milf

I honestly dont know. I do think wilson is fixable. Alot of his issues seem mechanical. Sitting behind someone like rodgers for 2 years could be exactly what he needs.

You have to be more specific.
The one with the 100% guaranteed contract.

I've never seen a team so desperate for a QB just ignore the guy they drafted 2 years ago so high. At least if it was Rodgers you could say see you in 2 years Zach. If its Lamar signing a 4-5 year deal?

Then it's "see you in week 8" when Lamar inevitably is hurt.
