And another thing! Having the owner come out and accept the trophy is like avoiding a car accident, and giving a trophy to the obstruction you swerved around to begin with.

Most owners are active saboteurs in the athletic department and every single one of them will lose to improve the bottom line when presented with that choice, except maybe the guy on the Mets.
If you owned the rangers and won the cup you'd almost surely shove trouba to the side to lift the cup first.

Absolutely not.

I don't think I would ever touch it even in that scenario. I certainly would never touch the real Cup as it currently stands.

That's sacred for people who won it on the ice.

Yeah the owner thing is so cringe. Give it to the coach first like they do in College

You’re not in better space after you pay Barkley a terrible second contract .
And a limited Dan Jones 40 million a year / enjoy .
Philly window isn’t going anywhere - they have another top pick and the best GM in the NFC.
The Giants have lost 12 straight to Dak - let us know when you’re in a game v them.

Toney stuck it up Dabolls ass “
Who just couldn’t find out how to use him - despite being stuck w Golliday”

A good night indeed
I don't even know how to read this stupidity. You are trying to make this anti Daboll? You'd trade him for McCarthy in a second.

Hodgins had a way better year than Toney with Daboll. We got JUST as far as your team, but you are built for now. We weren't supposed to be, but thanks to Daboll got to YOUR level. Without the expectations. Crawl back in your hole. Dallas fans generally hide until early in the regular season when they are gonna be the super bowl champs before blowing it like always.

A good night indeed.

Unrelated but I’m happy for Kevin Burkhardt.

I remember when he was interviewing fans in the stands at Shea stadium for SNY and now he just called a Super Bowl.
He was the cowboys radio pbp guy mid 2000’s .
Jersey guy

The guy owned up to it after the game. No sour grapes. I had a conference call with some eagle fans this morning. No sour grapes from them either.

On another note these are super bowl odds for net season. Someone is smoking something.

Chiefs 6/1
Cinci 17/2
Bills 9/1
Eagles 9/1
Cowboys 14/1
...
Jets 25/1
Giants 40/1

Pats 50/1
...
Cardinals 250/1
Texans 300/1

Ive had a few occasions where i could have touched it and was about to and stopped.

Not because I had any business jinxing myself but because of what you just said. It just hit me

Don't even bother responding to NY Cowboys fan. Let me guess, you're a Lakers fan, too? Pure cancer.

That jersey tug by Bradberry was a penalty, but one that's almost never called. It was quick, and very close to the LoS. If you call that, you need to call OPI on the push offs that WRs get away with every single route to create separation.

I'm a Giants fan, so I'm not shedding any tears for the Eagles, but that was a cheap call in a game that the refs largely "let them play." Reffing inconsistency is absolutely maddening as a fan. That flag was completely incongruous with how the game was called up until that point.

100% and if that call helped the Eagles win, I'd be PISSED. It didn't, so I couldn't care even one tiny little bit.

I never thought Bieniemy would leave KC for anything other than a HC gig. If he was a possibility, I wish the Jets would have waited on their OC hire.

For the Jets in the draft, I'd love for them to pick up OT Paris Johnson Jr. out of Ohio State. Great combination of skill and the right kind of attitude. If he's still around a bit later, I'd like to see them pick up Luke Wypler as well. I think he's going to be a damn good center in this league.

I also like JL Skinner out of Boise State for Safeties who might be around when the Jets are on the clock

If they are going to pick a developmental QB, I'd go for Anthony Richardson out of Florida. He is DEFINITELY not ready yet, but if he develops for a year or two and makes some progress, he has the talent/physical skills to potentially be one of the best QBs of this class. I only want him if he drops out of round 1 though. A 1st round label would make the brass too tempted to throw him in as the day 1 starter and screw up a raw QB for a (checks notes) fourth consecutive time.

If we can get Johnson Jr. in Round one, one of Wypler or Richardson in Round 2, and Skinner in Round 3, I'll be thrilled.

I want Wypler even more after reading today's article on ESPN (Jets' plan for Zach Wilson is highly unusual, could lead to future trade):

5. Jersey boy: If the Jets don't address their center need in free agency, they might be able to draft a player from their own backyard -- Ohio State's Luke Wypler, who attended St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, New Jersey. He's the No. 3 prospect at center, according to ESPN draft analysts Matt Miller and Jordan Reid.

Wypler grew up a serious Jets fan, so serious that he named his dog "Chez," after former quarterback Mark Sanchez. An admirer of former center Nick Mangold (a former Ohio State standout), Wypler wore Mangold's No. 74 during his high school career. His closet included jerseys from his favorite players, notably Darrelle Revis and Brett Favre.

Being drafted by the Jets "would be a childhood dream come true," Wypler told ESPN. "It would be so surreal to play for the Jets. They were my team growing up."

Ranked 3rd or not, I still think he's going to be the best center from this draft class, and he'd be amazing value if we could get him in the Breece Hall spot (top of the 2nd round).

Part of me wonders if the Giants were better off making steady progress this year instead of the run they had. If they’re going to let Saquon walk I would have much rather just tagged him or traded him. Losing him for nothing is the worst outcome. I understand not giving out big second contracts to RBs but Saquon’s value is too high to allow him to walk.

I am wary of Jones at $40M a year. That’s wild. A season ago everyone was thinking he’d be a career backup. But Matt Stafford and Dak Prescott make $40M. His play last year puts him in that tier or near it. As long as it’s a 3-4 year deal, locking him in and tagging Barkley is the best possible outcome right now. Need to maintain cap flexibility long term. If the team takes a step back, you can trade Barkley for a draft haul and if they keep progressing, you can reevaluate him next offseason.

Clock is ticking. I have a feeling Barkley is going to walk and Jones will get tagged.

Jones wants 48 mil supposedly, I think the Giants would happily give him 40 and tag Barkley but Jones is saying no to that, which is why they'll probably end up tagging Jones and having to let Barkley go.

Saints reportedly signing Carr to 4-year deal. I guess that means we'll be stuck with Rodgers. No wonder this franchise is jinxed.

Carr has been mediocre at best throughout his career and he's going to get a $40 million/year deal? No thanks. Willing to take a chance on Rodgers.

Personally, I'd rather not have either.
