Giants have made it clear they are happy with DJ and that DJ will be back.Giants need to stay the hell away too.
Jets don't need to make a long term move locking in a question mark like Carr or Jimmy G. A move for Rodgers that doesn't include trading premium picks is my preference, especially since it might be the only cap hit they can afford for this coming season. They did the same with Brett Favre who as a 39yo led the Jets to a winning season before drafting Sanchez.Giants have made it clear they are happy with DJ and that DJ will be back.
The Rodgers stuff was funny. Some people said he preferred the Jets. Some said he preferred the Raiders. Going for Rodgers is a win now move. Nothing wrong with that but it is what it is. Superbowl or bust in 2023 or 2024. He is will be 40 during next season.
Still I think the younger Carr may make more sense depending on what it takes to get him.Jets don't need to make a long term move locking in a question mark like Carr or Jimmy G. Ignoring trade pieces, getting Carr would result in a cap hit of $33 million in 2023. If someone traded for Rodgers they'd have to exercise his 2025 option in which case the cap hit would be just $16 million in 2023. They'd have 2 years to make room for the bigger cap hit in later years but Rodgers would probably retire before the contract was over. I think that's doable for the Jets and is probably cheaper to trade for considering the packers cap hit otherwise.Still I think the younger Carr may make more sense depending on what it takes to get him.
I do not know all the details so I do not want to speculate. I will say the Rodgers I saw this season was not the Rodgers of old. Will he bounce back? Possibly but you better have a good line. His days of running are in the past.Ignoring trade pieces, getting Carr would result in a cap hit of $33 million in 2023. Klecko was a 1st team All-Pro at 3 positions. Should've been in 20 years ago at least. It's about time Klecko gets in the Hall, took them long enough!
Also, considering how much of a dumpster fire our QB situation was, to have #17 take home OROY is impressive!
Did Al Toon win ROTY years ago?Never thought in a million years the Jets would have an offensive anything of the year. We’ve had DROY before
I don't think so but he was a good one.Did Al Toon win ROTY years ago?
