He might get a 40+ contact but the guarantees will probably be structured that he'll have to play into it to earn it.

In todays NFL that is fine. WR are getting 25-30 mill. All that really matters is the guaranteed money. The rest is mostly salary cap fluff.

Tagging Barkley might bring him down to the Giants’ number on an extension. I’m going to guess Barkley really doesn’t want to play on a tag, but his reputation takes a pretty big hit if he holds out (even though most would understand).

DJ's year 1 cap hit will probably be around $18 mill.
All the greed talk was pure BS. He got $82 in guaranteed money. That is very fair for the team. Lamar allegedly wants over $200.

NFL contracts and structures are weird. I don’t mind the deal, plus they got to franchise tag Saquan. You have to think they’ll be active in the LB market too. I’m interested to see what they do at Receiver, because although there aren’t a ton of options, even mediocrity would be an improvement on what we had.

The Jackson situation is interesting. There’s a reason the Ravens don’t want to commit long term.
