Trades rarely happen until about a week before the TDL b/c teams are both deciding to be buyers/sellers or fence sitters, and the potential buyers are usually accumulating cap room to add players. The Flyers were recently sitting at 2nd in the division until their western road trip. There's no way management gives up key pieces of the team when they're sitting in that position. If the Flyers continue to slip then hopefully we'll see Seeler/Walker moved sooner rather than later but no team is going to dismantle their roster while they're overperforming just because "well we were supposed to suck this year."
Rational people aren’t here right now for the flyers, they’re here for the other posters they have become internet friends with, to shit talk, and the non hockey or non flyers stuff.Because for all our sins we are flyers fans. If I didn't have any hope this team could actually turn things around then I wouldn't be a fan. Even if it's blind hope.
What's more confusing is why someone like you hangs around the flyers boards posting about how they are doing everything wrong and yet your "apathetic" towards the team.
Your lying to yourself that you don't care, because rational people wouldn't be here if they didn't.
I will never stop laughing at JVR immediately turning back into a very good player the second he got out of here and people still bringing him up as a sign of doom.
Guess what, they're still here and the odds of them being traded are probably lower than Cutter ever playing a game in a Flyers jerseySeeler and Walker definitely increased their trade value substantially, Seeler from a late round pick to 3rd rd or so, Walker from middle round pick to 2nd or so. Seeler is the kind of player HCs covet for the playoffs, great shot blocker who plays physical defense. And Walker made a big jump to a legitimate 2nd pair D-man. Given one was an AHL signing and the other a throw-in for cap reasons, not bad.
So you're mad at a new GM because of a hypothetical situation that won't happen for another 2 months, based on the previous regime in charge?
There are threads for that. This is a hockey board where actual flyers fans want to discuss the team.Rational people aren’t here right now for the flyers, they’re here for the other posters they have become internet friends with, to shit talk, and the non hockey or non flyers stuff.
As of today, they're not in a playoff spot. The Flyers were recently sitting at 2nd in the division until their western road trip. There's no way management gives up key pieces of the team when they're sitting in that position. I see where he's coming from because Tortorella is an assclown...How am I reading so many of you Flyers fans berate management over this situation? Gauthier is solely to blame for behaving like an entitled child. I understand if you're unhappy about the trade and the return. But your 18-year-old prospect shouldn't be pouting because of who your coach is.
It's not generous. Its literal fact. He is the New GM of the flyers, he is a new GM. A general managers duties extend further than picking a roster, like most other GMs in the business, they were all interns to someone that got fired.Calling Briere the new GM is very generous. They promoted Fletchers intern. The guy trained by Fletcher and Flahr. Nothing here is new
So you’re saying you only want sunshine and rainbows and to ignore anything questionable about the team? There are threads for that. This is a hockey board where actual flyers fans want to discuss the team.
I can't believe people actually suck their own farts enough to believe this....but it's just money at the end of the day. I personally would rather have guys that play for the love of the game as the #1 reason, not money. That's the same approach I have to my job, I truly love what I do, and yes, I'm paid well for it, but money is secondary to the work itself. You don't become truly great at something because you like money... And I'll leave it at that.
We have the 1st WC spot according to nhl.com, but we have played more games then a few of the others looking for the WCAs of today, they're not in a playoff spot.
Sure, Jan.
His "rebound" in Boston is based on sheltered minutes, 11:01 a night at 5x5.
He doesn’t even know Torts though, and spoke highly of him in April 2023 on that podcast
Ah, the good old days of Chuck Fletcher...
Fletcher can't find way to trade JVR, forced to defend his job, Flyers' direction
You’re from out of town, right?Granted, Torts is probably very hard to play for when you're in his dog house. But it can't all be bad. Also, Cutter will at the very least play 12 years in the league. A very small fraction of that would have been spent with Torts. I just don't like these types of trade demands and, in my opinion, it's not a good look for Cutter.
