I’m going to say it and it won’t be popular because we all love him but Adam Fox should not be immune from criticism here either when it comes to the offense. He’s playing 25 plus a night running the top pp he’s got 2 assists total in his last 10 games. Refuses to put pucks on net (that Brendan smith goal happens because of a muffin floated at hart that he misplays. Rebounds rebounds rebounds) and has the pp running at a snails pace. Yes Tony is a POS but to pretend that he didn’t have that thing running fast and dangerous is not fair either. They miss that speed badly. He needs to pick up his pace and stop drifting to the walls instead of getting pucks to the net. Not everything is going to be a tap in goal.

When you play the amount of minutes he's been playing, you're going to get run down and make more mistakes. There's just no way around it.

Oh I don’t mind the mistakes believe me. They are far and few between. But he is here to provide offense. That is his bread and butter and when you’re playing those mins. Even if you’re a dman. You’re supposed to produce. Don’t think Gorton and co didn’t think hey we can walk from Tony we have Adam Fox chomping at the bit for that powerplay time. Well he’s not doing anything with it. So while I think that’s an anomaly for himlomg term right now he needs to do more when the puck is on his stick in terms of creating chances and simplifying his game.

In all seriousness, something needs to be done about Zibby. He came out for that OT shift and from the START looked more gassed than the guys that had been out for over a minute. He's not right. And at this point, I'm actually worried about his well-being.

It's one thing to lack confidence. It's another thing to look lethargic, dazed, confused the entire time you're on the ice. Hockey aside, I think he needs to be examined by a doc from top to bottom. I'm worried that a trainer would have no idea what's going on.
Really does look like that sometimes. I am very concerned as well, for the human and less for the hockey player.
Who really knows how much lingering effects he has from Covid thats #1. But in addition is his previous concussions. He took yet another blow into the boards vs Devils, got up and said he was alright. Looked scary at 1st, looking to be his head directly at the boards, but seemed it wasn't. Obviously something is NOT right, and they really should check him out thoroughly, UNLESS they know something, they're not letting on.

I'm not worried one iota about Tony's personal and cultural interests. It's a business.
I think the Seattle team will be worrying about their fanbase's personal and cultural interests here, not Tony's. If current teams are worried about fan backlash for grabbing him, I doubt a brand new expansion franchise in a place that makes NY look like Texas by comparison will want to alienate their ultra liberal and reactionary new fanbase at the start. Also, if he couldn't get along in NY, he's not going to get along and be happy playing in Seattle, which will just lead to more problems.

He's not a threat to shoot. That becomes a lot easier to read.

IMO the entire PP needs to be blown up and redone. From setup to personnel. There's too much talent on this team to be struggling

Yah, I agree 100% but he also played 30:00 last night, 25:00 the game before. That's a lot of minutes and can cause offensive production to dip. I would like to see him make quicker decisions on the PP and get his shot off and through a bit better.

Nice SO goal and it was accurate AF but from 7 feet away who doesn't have a good shot in the NHL?

I agree, but man was there some serious authority there and he already has goalies shook. Hart looked terrified of Kakko on that goal. Totally owned in every possible way.

Buchnevich?
He has 2 or 3 goals on unscreened shots this year from well over 10 feet away, bad goals for a goalie to give up for sure, but one needs to really rip it to have a chance to squeeze through so I'm no longer concerned about Buch's shot lol

Ive been saying the same exact thing. He's good with the lateral no-looks at the middle to lower circles when the passes need to be more deceptive and precise than fast, but at the points, he goes point to point at half speed compared with ADA, and that lack of speed really affects things.

where is the Libor Hajek love? He is doing a really good job playing on his off side. Quietly he is going to make it difficult for the Rangers next camp.
It died in the islander game when he had that bad turnover that led to that late goal. (Sarcasm) But he's been good. It was just one major blunder in an otherwise solid stretch of games.

I was very vocal on Hajek the past year. I'll have time to properly watch the game saturday. He certainly looks better.

gonna hurt some feelings with this one but having Johnson, Smith, Bitetto, and Hajek on D is a worse handicap than the Flyers missing 6 top 9 forwards. I would very happily trade positions. That is 4 d-men that cannot be relied on to make anything resembling a play with the puck.

I mean, it's understandable when the entire top 9 isn't producing, he's certainly not the only one.

I do think Fox is quite a downgrade from Tony on the pp though.

I'm very unimpressed with his puck skills. he's good at short passes in his own zone but literally anywhere else I just close my eyes and pray. I think he gives the puck away a lot more than gets acknowledged cause he's "quiet" imo.

Maybe he'd look better with someone that's not Bitetto.

I absolutely think that Mika's play has been affected by the Covid he had going into training camp. For some people this disease has had long term or will have lifetime effects. There are people for instance who survive but have diminished lung capacity that they're never likely to get back. It seems to affect different people in a wide variety of ways though the majority get through it without any major issue. Zibanejad right now is not the same player he's been for us the last several years---maybe some of it's also frustration but he's been off so much that I think there is a real underlying issue going on.
