I absolutely think that Mika's play has been affected by the Covid he had going into training camp. For some people this disease has had long term or will have lifetime effects. There are people for instance who survive but have diminished lung capacity that they're never likely to get back. It seems to affect different people in a wide variety of ways though the majority get through it without any major issue. Zibanejad right now is not the same player he's been for us the last several years---maybe some of it's also frustration but he's been off so much that I think there is a real underlying issue going on.

Since...I have no idea....but does Mika smoke ? Lot's of players do I thought I had read . I think it is Covid hangover in all likelihood ....hopefully he gets fixed soon .

At the end of the day, we beat a team missing some key players.

And the game prior, we lost the game while missing some key players.

So we've been on both sides of that coin. A win with key Flyers out of the lineup counts just as much as losing a game when Panarin, Chytil, Trouba, Miller and (for all intents and purposes) Zibanejad was basically out as well.

So it cuts both ways.

Yup and as bad as it is...it is all a part of things in a rebuild that will take a couple of more years before we resemble a playoff like club hopefully..and yes it is frustrating but we have to be patient . At times I feel like throwing the TV out the window but I just have to breathe normal and look at my Ranger wall of cards from the 70's onward and hope one of these days it all comes together for us like it did in 94 . Imagine how Leaf fans feel..not even a sniff of a Final since 1967....that is a lot of rebuilds....

You know I hate Quinn as much as anyone but I feel like half of what I read on this board is that the Rangers are too east/west and pass too much and then half is that they're not creative enough.

There's nothing about Quinn's system that would cause the poor play we are seeing. I wish Quinn were that innovative.
Of course, I can understand criticism of how Quinn handles players, but it ain't the system.
Half of this board hates every coach, assistant and GM.
It's the players. Specifically, the veterans. We can make as many excuses for Mika as we like, but he stinks right now. If he has the mysterious "brain fog", he needs to take a couple of weeks off. Strome has been awful. Krieder has been awful. If these guys were going, this tone of this board would be completely different.

I would doubt he does.....but he is seriously winded on most shifts ...it just knocked the crap right out of him....Hopefully he does not have permanent damage and he can battle through it...health first...hockey second.

I'm making plans with my gf and thought I was going to have to pick a game to miss. And so did she, because apparently she checked out our schedule last week.

She knows that it's better for all parties if we can plan around Rangers games haha

Low expectations and mockery seems to be a good formula for a win. That being said I will continue to think they’ll lose every game and bitterly accept any outcome.
