Thats it, Panthers open the month with a loss, are now 2 L under .500 and spend 9 of their next 11 games on the road against good teams.

Meaning that even if they play for .500 in that stretch, its going to be mathematically almost impossible to make the playoffs at that point. A broken team without that motivation to make the playoffs can really struggle for the reminder of the calendar, it could get really ugly for them.

Tankathon showing the Florida pick at #8 right now based on Winning Percentage.

The Chicago (#1) / San Jose (#4) game also means some bottom team is picking up point/s
Ottawa (#10) currently leading also helps

Florida is a team that had players go out and get drunk before game 4 of their series against Tampa Bay last year. I hope it gets uglier for them and that they sink even more in the standings.

Another excellent night, with Florida's loss, Ottawa and San Jose currently winning.

I don't expect we or Florida can reach Columbus, Chicago or Anaheim level of mediocrity, but there is certainly an outside chance to out-tank San Jose, Philly and Arizona.

there's half a season left. I think it's pretty safe to say our pick will be top 5; if somehow that Fla picks sneaks into like the top 8, this becomes franchise changing - when one thinks about the pieces we already have with suzuki, Slaf, CC, Dach, Guhle, Xekaj, Hutson, Beck--you add two of Yager, Carlsson etc, let alone Bedard. Holy shit.

Hughes also has 21 mill in cap space to add a PLD AND the cap will be significantly up in 3 years to keep all these guys.

keep the faith
