It was a sweep. 2 forwards aren't gunna cause a 4 win swing the other direction. It's not like they were missing McDavid.

You want facts? The fact is Carolina has never been able to get it done. At this point they're a slightly better Leafs team.

Ok, so if we had Svech and Max, and Florida was missing Barkov and Verhaeghe, you still see this as a sweep going Florida’s way? After all, Barkov and Verhaeghe are no McDavid.

It is not a fact that Carolina’s never gotten it done, because they have lol, just not with this core. But to say Carolina’s a slightly better team than Toronto is quite frankly an insult considering one team has won at least 1 round in each playoffs the last 5 years, and the other team has only won 1 round in the last 5 years total. Carolina had to beat a defending champion and a Boston team that Toronto seems to never be to beat.

Barkov is one of the best players in the World, neither Svec or Pacioretty are that

& Svec had 5 points in 14 games last year, not like he has ever been a game changer so far in his career

Best of luck the rest of the way Florida. Not even mad (at least at your team... our management on the other hand has a LOT of questions to answer). Would love to see Maurice finally get a ring after being one of the most shit on coaches of all time in his damn near 30 years behind the bench.

Kind of infuriating that Tkachuk is going to win the Conn Smythe
be mad at Calgary's management then. They had a chance to get something long-term done with Tkachuk 4 years ago and bridged him instead. They easily could have moved out Frolik to make the room to give him a long-term deal at the time, but they didn't.

I mean, Bobrovsky also happend. I feel like the series was closer than 4-0. Bob was just 1 goal better every game.
Nah, it means nothing to him since he wanted to say, "I told you so." But yeah, the Canes beating New Jersey, who beat the Rangers, means nothing.

Kind of like the still bitter Montreal fans that were praying the Canes lose even though they'd get a lower 1st round pick from Florida advancing.

Hate is something people live on; even years later in the case of KK's offer sheet. When you think about it, it's sad. Nothing better to do.

Rod Brindamour comes off as totally unhinged.
What do you have in mind? Any examples?

I'm not seeing it, so help me out. He's one of the more passionate coaches, and I thought people clamored for passionate people on hockey teams/behind the benches.

He's also well loved by his players and the fans.

Tkachuk could have still asked for a trade even if he was on a long term deal in Calgary. No team is going to force a player of this caliber to stay against their will and just stink up the room.

Remember when I said Carolina wasn't that good they just hadn't played any good teams yet these playoffs?
You could also say that the sweep humbled them and gave them the mindset they needed to be a real contender.

There's a lot fewer contenders in a given season than you think
You're no better than the Leafs fans who say they "got goalied" vs Montreal

Just a few posts after the original post, you were doing a told you so and are still dancing on Carolina's figurative playoff grave while also downplaying any adversity they faced.

They beat the Islanders, and the Devils while being down two top 6 forwards the whole time, and missing a significant amount of the playoffs with three top 6 players due to TT before he returned.

Many people didn't expect the Canes to beat the Islanders, OR the Devils (Biz is one of several people that comes to mind in the media who predicted the Canes to lose to both), but suddenly Carolina's two series wins are meaningless to you? "Leafs and Kings."

Yeah, I'd expect such mental gymnastics from a Leafs fan since you were trying to act like a Canes fan was comparable to Leafs fans who said they got goalied vs Montreal. Except for the fact that literally everyone has been talking about Bob playing so historically well, and that he's the Conn Smythe favorite.

Finally, yeah, Svech and Patches weren't gonna make a difference in games ALL decided by ONE goal, and they aren't all-star tier players or anything. Svech also wouldn't make a difference physically. Lol. Also, since you brought up the Leafs again, Carolina has gotten things done since, unlike the Leafs, they've won a cup in the 21st century.

Their hopes and dreams for that pick in November were at lottery pick winning first over all. Then as the season progressed to the New Year it was, it’ll be a top 10. Time grinds on and the hope was 13ish and move up the max w/a lottery ball. Sacrebleu! They made the playoffs! Well, we’ll still get a good player at pick #17....I mean they’re playing the Bs, right? Then the really committed ones sullied themselves by rooting for the Leafs in round 2. Curses! Pick 29 it is now....
By the time the ECF started, they didn’t give a shit about that pick anymore

The Isles barely made the playoffs, and the Devils were possibly the softest team in the playoffs. Beating those two teams isn't something to celebrate, much like beating the Leafs also isn't.

You know what? They are completely comparable. Although when the Leafs "got goalied" they at least managed to win a few games in the series first.

The fact that you're using noted bandwagoner Biz in your argument really shows the quality of it right there.

You know who brought up the Leafs? The guy I quoted. You'd know that if you had an ounce of reading comprehension. I find it laughable that me being a fan of that shitty team is used as some pathetic attempt to discredit my opinion.

Ok so now you want to keep moving the goal posts? First it was if the Canes were healthy, and now its if the Canes were healthy AND the Cats were hurt?

Thats what I mean, with this core. Much like Toronto hasn't gotten it done with this core. Toronto blows it in the 1st or 2nd round. Carolina blows it in the 2nd or 3rd. Pretty pathetic for both teams given their regular season "success."
