I have no horse in this race, but every game was literally one shot away from going in the opposite direction. A player like Svechnikov with his finishing abilities could have turned a couple of those games.

This is not a one year issue with Carolina.

Even with Svec they have lacked that game breaking forward for 4 years. Carolinas star forwards have always disappeared when the games have gotten the toughest.

He has never been that, so I highly doubt this would have gone from a sweep to game 7 if Svec plays.

Again nothing in his past play supports that

Iceland II the hotter crappier version.
Florida v Vegas is pretty much a dream matchup. That is going to be a phenomenal finals. Every game should be great, intense hockey.

I got Vegas in 7, but man, I'm really annoyed I'm not gonna be able to watch this.
Gotta get passed Dallas first.... If we do that I'll offer the kitties the chance to knock the stanley cup off everything if they let us win.

Brind’Amour should be fired. He’s taken them as far as he could and his message will start to be ignored by the players. Need to make a coaching change to freshen things up.

Brindamour should not be fired. I mean he actually stuck with Andersen (who played well this playoffs) 4 out of the 5 games. I'm really suprised Kotchektov wasn't the starter heading into the playoffs. He had a pretty crazy run during the middle of the season and I remember he was sent down to the AHL once Raanta and Andersen were healthy. Carolina has had a ton of goalies step in the lat few years and post really respectable numbers. They have come a long way since the days of Scott Darling and a past prime Cam Ward. Just seems there is always an issue with who's Carolina's starter when it comes to Brindamour. He did pretty much stick it out with Andersen this year though. You would think a goalie with a .927 Sv% and a 1.83 GAA would be numbers would be good enough to get their team to the Cup Finals but it wasn't the case. The Panthers found those timely goals and got the better goaltending. I did the math quick and since the Bruins series ended Bobrovsky has posted a .950 SV%. Hard to win games when the other teams goalie is a wall and you are missing 2 of yoir top goal scorers. Just comes to show you how a hot goalie can help lead a team come playoff time. The Panthers have a very experienced team to go with that. There isn't many players in their rookie or 2nd years on that team aside from Lundell I believe. That's gotta be an advantage for Maurice to have at his disposal.

Remember when I said Carolina wasn't that good they just hadn't played any good teams yet these playoffs?
Any Cane fan would tell you we were playing with house money. Our dreams of winning the cup evaporated when Svech got hurt. We also acquired Max Pacc for the playoffs and that’s another layer of missing scoring. 🤷‍♂️

It was fun and we’ll be back. Hopefully healthier next time.

Carolina has a journeyman approach to goaltending because of the way their roster is constructed and the style of game they play. When you limit teams to <20 shots, you just need .900 to win most games and get to the playoffs, where anyone can get hot (see Ward, Cam).

Carolina stresses highly mobile defensemen and forechecks aggressively. Hopefully we add goal scoring in the offseason.

Going to be a fun final.
