The commute from Bridgewater was too muchUmm this was a home game and expected this squad for years has used the first game back after a road trip to mail it in .
I missed the game - how did Lambert look?
That is hardly the point. Of course everyone has slumps. We have two recent years of experience on how this team folds when adversity strikes or their opponents up their game later in the season, and during the playoffs. The team mentally folds and sink to the challenge. This looks the same. Some posters need to stop being Jets fans and go cheer for a team that doesn't go through a slump every year
Good luck finding one
I'm usually right there with you fighting the good fight but that game last night just triggered me. Are we going to go through another season just to see this team fold like a cheap tent when the games matter the most? Some posters need to stop being Jets fans and go cheer for a team that doesn't go through a slump every year

Yeah I do think that part of the attendance problem is that fans just don't really believe in this team, and with the cost of going to a game are you going to pay good money to watch whatever that was last night?13,100 showed up tonight, to bad the Jets didn't give then anything to make noise about, kinda dead except for the boo's in the 3rd.
So, if they turn it around when they get a bit of rest/recovery, would it change your perspective?I'm usually right there with you fighting the good fight but that game last night just triggered me. Are we going to go through another season just to see this team fold like a cheap tent when the games matter the most?
You can work on coaching and playing the right way, but if you have a group of guys who don't have the mental fortitude to elevate when it matters then you have a big problem.
Damn if @Jet is this unhappy Jets you better get your shit together fast.I got really pissed off after the second and decided to play video games instead.
I was right on the 'team is really worn out due to the schedule/ travel situation' train, but playing like that at home is beyond pathetic. This team is great when it's rolling but when things get hard they just lie down. It's been said by a couple coaches here already but where is the f***ing push back?
After the Stars game I felt like they might be pulling themselves out of it but that turd they laid last night reminded me so much of the playoff Jets of the past 2 years. No pushback, no intensity, no answers.
Lowry did all he could to get the team into it but too many f***ing passengers.
There are certain players who have just been shit for too long now, and our elite players are not dictating play at all.
Barron needs to have a f***ing seat. Appleton has just dissappeared. Schiefele needs to be forced to rest until he can actually contribute. Vilardi has sick hands but he really is a non factor in a lot of games. A guy with his size and skill should be getting chances every game but he doesn't drive anything.
Demelo has been pretty awful this year and Morrissey has been ho hum most of the year.
I've given Logan Stanley the biggest rope of anyone but for God's sake it's not happening and I don't know what the team sees in him to think a 7 year pro is going to blossom into anything more than a 7th defenseman is baffling. How do you put a guy with 40 games of NHL experience in 4 years, and 2 games in nearly 2 on his off side with a turd like him? That's not setting Heinola up for success.
If we could ever get some time to rest, practice and reset I'd be making some fundamental changes to the lines, and getting some fresh bodies in.
The part of this that annoys me the most is good teams do not lose 4 games in a row, especially with that effort at home against a mid team like the Blues.
These guys are frauds.
If there is a glimmer of positivity, it was that I really liked Lambert out there. He's not quite ready to be an everyday offensive contributor in the NHL but it looks like hes catching up to the pro game.
Well, would you put me in that category? I'm one of the most positive posters on this board. So, if they turn it around when they get a bit of rest/recovery, would it change your perspective?
You can't make it to the level they started at by being weak mentally. They battled back in a bunch of those games and won gritty. Why (in your opinion) would that mental toughness evaporate all of a sudden?
We overachieved for a bit. Now we're maybe underachieving. Maybe the problem is that people thought that the start of the season is normal and should continue?
We're sitting third in the league with the 2nd best goal differential. If I wpuld have asked the forum in sept if they'd be happy with that at the start of December, I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been unanimous
But some people aren't happy unless they aren't happy
Some people are acting more unhinged on here than posters on legit bottom dwellers forums FFS
yes Susuki would look nice. But we flipped picks with Vegas so they would take Thorburn and lean Enstrom.I was watching Nick Susuki play tonight. He would look great on our 2nd line. That was our 1st round pick, but we traded it so we could keep Marko Dano.
But we have that going for us......which is nice.
I'm going to give it a try, if the Jets were playing like this on a 9 game homestand i would be really pissed but that was a road trip from hell and now it continues for 2 more bloody games. I like Namestnikov but he shouldn't be on the 1st line and losing Ehlers and Samberg has hurt big time. The Jets played too damn good for the first 20 games for it to be a fluke . Let's see how they play when we get back home for that 4 game homestand, Samberg thinks we will get back to scoring and playing like we were......So, if they turn it around when they get a bit of rest/recovery, would it change your perspective?

It isn't a criticism of you or your post, but I found Connor's absence from your post interesting because I barely noticed him at all yesterday. He seems to be able to sidestep a lot of criticism that other players seem to get in waves here. I guess because he's streaky?I got really pissed off after the second and decided to play video games instead.

I absolutely don't put you in that catagoryWell, would you put me in that category? I'm one of the most positive posters on this board.
My issue is this team does not deal well with adversity. If the goal is to challenge for a championship, they are going to have to figure that out.
I can deal with losing because they gave it their all and just lost because of luck or being fatigued. I think that's what happened in Dallas. I also think if Helle was in net against Vegas they probably would have won that one.
But, when you come home after a 3 game losing streak and put that performance together on home ice, that really bugs me.
To answer your question, I will always be a Jets fan, and no other team. If they turn it around and start winning again I will still be in the 'show me' phase with this group. I still want to see them fight through adversity and win or lose put the best effort and battle forward. I will enter the playoffs this year hopeful but not expecting much until they can prove me wrong. I hope they do.
And by the way, we ARE playing Buffalo nextTrade him to a team with a gullible GM and move on.
Connor had been playing very well but his game dropped off right around when Scheifele injured what ever the hell he injured. Honestly once Scheifele got hurt that's when we started playing a little worse. Scheifele gets alot of criticism but if he's injured or not playing it really affects this team partly because we need a 2nd center. Time to give Perfetti another shot as the 2nd line center. It isn't a criticism of you or your post, but I found Connor's absence from your post interesting because I barely noticed him at all yesterday. The team really needs him to be able to stand out again though.
I've been a Stanley pacifist (at best) but I could feel the frustration in your post radiating through the screen. Admittedly, I have to agree with you. There just has to be a better option already because few players get this much rope to show such minimal improvement.
Trade him to a team with a gullible GM and move on.
Amen brother. Well said. I would say with the snow the Bridgewater drive must have been stressful for them hahaThe commute from Bridgewater was too much
The tired excuses are over the top , we aren’t playing well period.
Now we see if Arniel can coach them out of this slump.
Yes travel is hard ,but these are young world class athletes mostly.
I think you hit the nail on the head. They are not a great team, they are a bubble playoff team that really made no significant changes in the offseason other than keeping Miller, losing Dillon. Schmidt and the rentals , signing Coughlan and Flurry.Yes BUT a team that was rocking a 14 - 1 record in the first 15 games have fallen off a cliff and lost 7 of the last 10 games.
Truly great teams dont fail that hard because a difficult travel schedule. They find a way to win a couple of those games.
