Florida, as a 92-point team, has beaten:
The 135-point Bruins
The 111-point Maple Leafs
The 113-point Hurricanes

That's a total of 83 points fewer than the teams they upset. That has to be some sort of record. And the playoffs aren't over yet...

Barbashev, Domi, Bertuzzi, Dadnynov, JVR, the list goes on. there were lots of guys available who would have cost much less than Timo.
You think any of them are the difference maker this season? Seriously.. How many people picked us to Lose to NYI because we were down Patchs and Svech..

Domi we had last year... He won us the Boston series. but for our style a bad fit.. Barbashev is a good guy would have been a nice to have. nOt the difference between us winning the cup or not

Are you going to provide any facts to back up your statement?
The two teams they beat are shit. The Isles don't require an explanation. The Devils are one of the few playoff teams softer than Carolina, and they still managed to light them up in a few games.

The Canes got swept against an 8 seed. Like I said to the other guy, a sweep ain't close no matter how many mental gymnastics you do. And contenders don't get swept

you lost 2 games in OT and tonight may as well been. they wouldn't have had to make you much better. when margins are so thin, difference can be someone exactly like barbie.

One of those 2012 Kings situations. Panthers won the President's Trophy quite recently and took some time to gel with their new acquisitions and losses. Not your average 8th seed.

k We lose in 6... If we pick up Barbashev Before Game 1 (NYI) I bet you wouldn't put money on us winning the cup I wouldn't have.

Wow! I never would have predicted a sweep.
Florida beat the 1st, 2nd and 4th place teams. They earned their way into the SCF. I think they take it all.

The vibe feels different to me, though. The 2012 Kings were possession machines in the playoffs. It really felt like they underperformed in the regular season and, with the way they steamrolled Vancouver, felt like really strong favorites after round 1.

These 2023 Panthers feel like a fun, magical, plucky ride. They're getting out-possessed and out-advanced-stats a lot (as Canes fans are reminding us) but just finding a way to win through determination, whether it's 7-5 in a crazy affair against Boston or Bob suddenly earning his $10M/yr. They feel like the underdog in every series.

So you don't have any facts, other than the Isles don't require an explanation, and the 3rd overall Devils team is soft. And I'm supposed to take this as valid?

No contenders get swept huh? Because I seem to recall a fully healthy Tampa Bay Lightning team get swept by an 8th seed in the 1st round, then proceed to win 2 consecutive Stanley Cups. I'm going to give you an olive branch and a chance to amend your statement having being presented this information.

Florida earned their place no doubt.

and the Canes had a hole with Patches. there is No single player we could have traded for that would replace him and Svetch. Just there isn't that is available..

I concede there are players that could but no team is trading those guys..
