The vibe feels different to me, though. The 2012 Kings were possession machines in the playoffs. It really felt like they underperformed in the regular season and, with the way they steamrolled Vancouver, felt like really strong favorites after round 1.

These 2023 Panthers feel like a fun, magical, plucky ride. They're getting out-possessed and out-advanced-stats a lot (as Canes fans are reminding us) but just finding a way to win through determination, whether it's 7-5 in a crazy affair against Boston or Bob suddenly earning his $10M/yr. They feel like the underdog in every series.
They are having fun and believe in themselves no matter what happens. It’s hard to counter that.

This is why you never under estimate the under dog.
Hell no. Is Sean Money actually rooting for the Panthers now? Bandwagoner.

Happy for Panthers fans man, really. I saved watching the goal until just now cause I wanted to really bask in how epic it was gonna be, it did not disappoint.

Honestly all the ratings fanboys can shove it lmao, this is great for the sport. Nothing like a memorable Cup run to get the juices flowing.

My win is not having to hear them say Kotkaniemi every 30 f***ing seconds.

Was there some bet about how many times they could say that annoying ass name. Reminds me of the Sharks runs when Donskoi's name was over and over again. Certain names just irritate the hell out of me, don't know why.
They are both Finnish. That is your reason?

Unbelievable experience to be at. My buddies and I all mobbed each other after that Tkachuk winner, half thought we were going to knock a few people out around us who were also going nuts.

What a feeling. Finally!!!!!!!!
Was there any "We want Vegas" or "We want Dallas" talk going on?

Bobrovsky:

3-1 against Boston (only lost his first game)
4-1 against Toronto
4-0 against Carolina

Safe to say he's on a heater. The decision to ride Bob in the playoffs changed the Panthers entire season.
I completely agree- Bob is the difference. He’s the reason they’re going to Cup Finals. He’s been sensational and given the players confidence. If Bob stays hot the Panthers win it all.

No matter how many mental gymnastics you go thru, a sweep is never "close"
Bob is the difference maker in the Panthers postseason run.

The two teams they beat are shit. The Isles don't require an explanation. The Devils are one of the few playoff teams softer than Carolina, and they still managed to light them up in a few games.

The Canes got swept against an 8 seed. Like I said to the other guy, a sweep ain't close no matter how many mental gymnastics you do. And contenders don't get swept
They do when facing a super hot goalie. They do when they lose two top offensive players to injury and have to face Bob. I also felt like Bennet and Gudas got away with a lot of stuff - especially Bennet running guys . That’s my opinion. But regardless- Bob was the reason the Panthers are in the SC Finals.

The reason they are called the Florida Panthers is because they're named after the Florida panther. It's not the Miami panthers or the Ft. Lauderdale panther. They play in Sunrise and are named specifically, so no it doesn't make more f***ing sense to call them anything else.

I posted in the Canes boards, I wonder what would’ve happened if the Lomberg goal in OT1 in Game 1 hadn’t been called off. Certainly would’ve been a less demoralization loss for the Canes and a less energizing, confidence inducing win for the Panthers. Silly thing to think about. I’m sure the Panthers would’ve still won the series, but maybe not a sweep lol. Felt like that 4OT win set the tone for the rest of the series.
Carolina haven't been demoralized at all, they started next game with absolute domination and Bobrovsky was the only reason Florida survived that storm.
