Dude, I don't know what replay you're watching - but at no point does the stick make contact with the skate. He doesn't even touch the guy, he goes for the puck and the forward slips

Just because a guy fell doesn't make it a penalty. Find us an angle showing the trip or stop making up calls because you saw a guy fall with a player around him
I’m watching the same replay as everyone else. Is it blacked out in Canada or something? You clearly see Tkachuk’s legs get taken out from under him as he is about to get to the far side of post and dish the puck to Bennett.

TNT even replayed it in game and called it a missed call.

The Tampa core was drastically outscored and outplayed 2 series in a row against Toronto's core. Go look at the stats of the two series between Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander and Rielly vs. Stamkos, Point, Kucherov, Cirelli and Hedman, it wasn't even close.
I’d still take the core that’s actually proven capable of Winning it all more than once over the core that’s only gotten out of round one just once. But if you wanna hang your hat on that, go ahead. I guess doing the unthinkable and beating Tampa was their crowning glory, their Stanley Cup!!!

Yeah it’s not like they had any help by going 18 million over the cap or anything but sure, it was all the “core” that couldn’t come close to matching the core of playoff chokers two series in a row

Doesn’t say much for the leafs core if they badly outplay their opponent and still lose one of those series. It’s okay, they just lack killer instinct. Leafs-nation should know by now exactly who and what they are. Everyone else can see it.

Kadri got suspended for 5-1/2 playoff games for fighting back. Matthews got two season games for fighting back. The league's been pretty clear over the years that some animals are more equal than others.
Sorry not buying it. This team does not stick up for each other like other teams do and never have and its been a sore spot for me since I began seeing that trend. Teams who win go to war for each other, always been like that and probably always will. Blaming the league for the leafs lack of push back holds no water IMO and is just another excuse in the massive line of excuses for the failures of this club.

I genuinely feel for fans like you. I know leafs have a lot of good fans who just want to see some winning, and you guys deserve it too. It's just the leafs fans that are in denial seem to forget that every team can post videos of the refs screwing them over, but the teams that win unite and overcome the adversity in spite of the refs missed calls.

Show us the TNT replay then, I’m sure if they showed it they’d show the front angle and not the back?

You can see the stick the whole time and it doesn’t hit the skate from that angle.

I feel like you cant evolve or move forward if you just blame your failures/deficiencies on outside factors (in all walks of life).

Its okay to say we aren't good enough, the better team won and now, what do we have to do to get better. For some reason some leaf fans just refuse to admit that maybe we aren't as good as we think we are.

Not taking responsibility and blaming refs, or being goalied or whatever the excuse is just means you more than likely get more of the same, and as a result, never understand where you are going wrong.

I am with you. No victim mentality. Own up and grow. Winners find a way, and losers find excuses. You don't have to win the series to be a winner, just have to fix what's broken and grow from it. Look at the lightning. They got swept in the first round before they won it all. They didn't make excuses, they fixed what was broken and won. The old blackhawks were a beast of a team too. Winners just find a way to win, even after falling flat on their face a few times.

He couldn't contribute to shutting down any of the Leafs top players (who are known as complete chokers) when he was in the line up. What else do you want me to say?

I don’t think you’re interested in having a real discussion about this. He barely played. You know that. Everyone else knows it. Have a good one

Yeah but just like every other year, they’ll make none of them and run it back screaming “THIS IS OUR YEAR” how can anyone take pride in rooting for an awful team with a fan base like theirs
I hate the Leafs, and I'm not all that fond of some of their fans, particularly the ones that invade the Vancouver arena like locusts whenever the Leafs are in town, but I take issue with that comment.

Most people are born into the fandom of their team because their team draws its fans from the geographical location they were born in. Their team is like an older brother or a sister to them. They've been with you all of your life. You are not going to abandon them when they go through a rough patch, even if they appear to be making dumb decisions. You will continue to support them, just like Leafs fans do with their team.

I've seen comments like yours before. In fact I've seen them about fans of my own team, the Canucks. It's just a way to demean a rival team's fans at a time when they're feeling down and their team is stuck in the swamp. Those times don't last forever, and seemingly suggesting that fans should be ashamed of their team and abandon it when times are hard means one doesn't understand what it means to be a true sports fan.

He played all of their series last year. I was talking about both Toronto and Tampa series combined. I already said that twice lol

Don't give me this crap about being interested in a real discussion with the responses I've been getting either.

Also the people who go on about "horrible fan bases" or make a living on a message board hating a team more than being a fan of their own can't really see the irony there.

Shall I introduce you? If you are going to chant, "We want Florida!!", be prepared to take your medicine when your team loses the series 4-1. It's not like it was some epic battle.
Yeah, we lost. Doesn't mean it's a "bad idea" to razz an opposing team. That's like the point of tribalism and fandom in sports.

"We're better than you! Even though we might lose tonight, we're better than you!" You just don't actually say the middle part out loud.

I am disappointed and annoyed that the cameras don't show the fans in Maple Leaf Square whenever Toronto gets scored on, gets defeated in a game, or gets eliminated from the playoffs.

The camera will show these fans obnoxiously celebrating every goal as though each goal is a Stanley Cup winner.

But these fans never have the camera put on them after something bad has happened to the Maple Leafs.
