The Leafs could lose and the refs could have missed calls. Why does it have to be mutually exclusive?

Even if it's called, doesn't mean the Leafs win the game, let alone the series. However, call out poor officiating when you see it, otherwise you accept it. HfBoards seems content with poor officiating, just change the rulebook then - or make penalties reviewable if they lead to a goal - like a game stoppage and offside is.

I don't understand why you can't hold someone accountable for being bad at their job?
Because you only call out the missed calls on the Leafs while ignoring the other missed calls. If you're going to be the ref police at least do it objectively.

I’m just gonna say it. Toronto didn’t lose because of the reffing. Toronto’s top players didn’t show up, and that was one of the main issues. Heck goaltending was actually pretty solid even with Woll taking over.

Florida worked harder and wanted it more. That is why they are in the ECF now, and not Toronto.

Marner and Matthews should be more like Yzerman. Leads his team to cup and is big playoff performer. Only thing is he did for 1st time over the age 30. Wasn't very noticeable before that either. On a side note i hate the leafs. If you trade marner send him to wpg.

Alright, fine.

I will the second you admit the Leafs are a better team than Tampa. It's not fair to compare second round playoff teams to lottery teams.
Leafs had a better regular season yes and beat them in the playoffs, but the Tampa core is much better and their collective playoffs record proves it.

Due to the cap, Lightning have had numerous casualties over the past couple years that have slowed them somewhat. Leafs were definitely a much deeper team top to bottom, but Given the chance most would and should take that Tampa core over the leafs.

Auston should get a new lucky purse for next season.
Might just luck out and passenger his way into the ECF with the right one.

I have the same jacket. Does this mean I’m also not good in the playoffs?

If they blow it up...get a GM Prez Coach who has won.Get some players who have won, because we have 2 decent goalies.Woll has the better effect on this team when he plays. They play freer than when Samsonov is in net,but Samsonov is still good enough to share the load.

Bring in Lou and Babs... sign ROR and Schenn... sounds like a recipe for success.

Regardless. The video that I quoted, says the puck was clearly in. It’s not necessarily in, given the camera angle. If the goal line was painted on top of the ice, then the angles would not play such a factor.
Maybe put microchips in pucks and sensors in the posts so even if the puck is hidden the sensors will pick up if the puck crossed the line? They can tag me on the highway going over the limit but can't do this?

WOOF, page 49?

Refs?

Holy moly. I mean as a Wild fan I am used to the round 1 loss. I plan my vacation around it.

I can see it's been too many years that Leafs fans haven't been in the PO's as they make the rookie mistake that refs are to blame.

Dallas series was reffing good? Nope.

But it ain't the refs fault that my team isn't up 4-1 and a bad call makes it 4-2.

Put the series away, put the periods away, so that a 'bad call' can't ruin the game or series.

Fragility.
Leaf fans are not claiming they lost round 2 because of the refs (I am sure there are some crazies out there). The reffing was really bad in round 1. It felt like they were out to get us, it was much better in round 2, in terms of fairness, even though there were a ton of called missed both ways.

I think FLA got away with some dirty play, and TOR was probably afraid they would get 2 min if they tried the same thing. At least it didn't feel like the refs were out to get us in Rd 2. We complain maybe about certain plays that were dangerous that resulted in an injury to our players, etc. But these Leaf haters trolling on the main boards that we did, don't even reply when you call lies on their BS.

Hopefully your vehicle isn’t doing hundred mph and occasionally hitting metal posts

This is lunacy, keep reaching for reasons and excuses....

Which was a penalty... Then Gudas boarded Kampf after the whistle and it wasn't call.

It was called and The Panthers lost the game anyway.

Say the stick-grab is called and The Panthers still win in OT, are we then crying about the "icing" call instead, or whether or not Brodie or Barkov touched the puck before it went over the glass? It was a moment in the game nothing more, just like the puck going over the glass in OT of game 5 that gave The Panthers a PP that they couldn't cash in on...a moment, nothing more.

Bottom line is that one team got better(timely) goaltending when it mattered and made the most of their opportunities, another team did not. The fact that a missed penalty in the OT...whether it led to a goal or not...was just another moment/opportunity that one team took advantage of(sense a theme?) and the other did not very consistently.

End result is: It's over, see you next year.

I see goalie interference on the clip, TO player pushed Bob's pads in the net. There was a reason the TO players didn't really argue the call.
The Leaf players all thought they scored. They reviewed it, it actually took forever. Then no goal, everyone blew a lid.

Technology doesn't work that way. All tracking technology in sports like you suggest is fundamentally, unshakably dependent on the thing you're tracking being spherical and/or visual tracking. Give it some time and think it through and you'll be able to figure out why.

I think the best, simplest, and least expensive solution probably involves coloring the ice of the goal line between the pipes. If the goal line itself can be seen on top of the ice (rather than well under the ice) that would help significantly with camera analysis.

I mean, you could theoretically use infrared lasers positioned under the ice (yes, I know how stupid this sounds), but that would be outrageously expensive and probably wouldn't even work very well. It's actually not nearly as simple as 'putting a chip in the puck.'

I merely commented on the fact FLA made some "dirty plays" and got away with it when explaining the differences in reffing in the two rounds. Again total fake narrative that we lost because of the reffing. I also never said anything about not playing "rough" that was your word, not mine. I said Leafs didn't want to make the same dirty hits and respond to FLA in that way, because once down 2-3 games there is no margin for error. Leafs lost because they couldn't outscore their problems, and decided to play desperate hockey in game 4, when we shoulda seen that level of play in game 1 or worst in game 3, where our big guns were total no shows in the most important game of the year.
I singled that point out of the post which I replied to because It was the part I found silly, I didn’t want to appear to call your whole post crazy, just that crazy part. Rough was my word, “dirty“ was the word you chose. Just let it go.
