What does Dubas think of the outcome? I want to see latest reactions..
What a beauty hit on the Leafs and again, no fight. Guys get bulldozed down. Beautiful!
It's easier to make excuses and blame others than to hold your lackluster team accountable for their yearly failure. For crying out loud, the amount of people I see saying the referees lost this game. Give your head a shake. Is that the excuse this time around?

The refs didn't put the Leafs in a 3-1 series deficit. I guess other people may argue that one too though.![]()
Refs have cost, are costing now,and will continue to cost teams games. Those arent robots out there playing this game.A bad call at a critical moment can make all the difference.Usually with this team,if the refs do a good job we usually win;meaning fair balanced, and correct calls.Sometimes when we lose even if the ref was good, its easy to take, like its nothing bad at all.We did a good job of ignoring the bad calls, and tied it up,but their series winning goal came as a result of our 3 players falling down. For the series the refs did suck,as they did in the tb series, but we were lucky to win because we were outplayed in games we shouldn,t have won,so i can see how blaming the refs all the time is ridiculous, but they do deserve blame when they mess us up.No reffing has been bad in all series across the board. The main issue is "game management". You're watching the intermission and the panel is predicating that "Team B will have a stronger 2nd period, because team A had 2 powerplays in the 1st, and "because of game management" Team B will get 2 powerplays in the 2nd period. Then the whistles will go away in the 3rd period." I proceed to watch the game, and Team B gets 2 powerplays in the 2nd period (total ticky tacky calls), and then no power plays in the 3rd for either team. I don't even know what the point of the rules are anymore.

I don't care if the Refs miss a call, or make the wrong call. I am not really even talking about the Leafs games, except to give an example how predictable the Refs are because of "game management". What I don't like is the feeling that the other team is "owed" a PP or multiple PP, and then they invent calls. It ruins the game. If team A takes 2 egregious penalties that are well deserved, and the game is called really tight, gifting the other team 2 PPs just to make things even - what are we doing?Refs have cost, are costing now,and will continue to cost teams games. For the series the refs did suck,as they did in the tb series, but we were lucky to win because we were outplayed in games we shouldn,t have won,so i can see how blaming the refs all the time is ridiculous, but they do deserve blame when they mess us up.

I disagree. This is result oriented outlook, and not an objective case by case outlook. I think the referring was absurd in the TB series, a series that we "won", and was basically a repeat of 2022, a series that we "lost". I thought we deserved to win in 2022 and got screwed, and we did not deserve to win in 2023, but we got super lucky with puck bounces and fluky goals, overcoming TB a bunch of cheaters and divers, plus the refs, just unreal. But TB was the better team putting that aside, we had no business winning that series. It is really an example of psychological attribution error.
Blame external sources for failures and credit internal sources for successes.
There is therapy for this type of mental cognitive dysfunction.
Its like there is a quota, and the data has to show the both teams were penalized equally.Listening to bowen,he would complain about how we had no power plays in game 3,and the ref missed some calls that could have been penalties, but not much.I,m used to the "we made a bad call ,so next call is ours" crap.Overall, they should call it by the book, but they dont. The book gets tossed into the fireplace, and they wing it.They have too much to consider now,and it goes for all sports, and it wasn,t their idea to begin with.Leagues now suck for officiating, and replay/rules etc,and they should be better, with all the new bettors betting. It is predictable in basketball as well. The Raps got screwed late in games a lot this year, and Freddy V got techs from the same official in a short span.I don't care if the Refs miss a call, or make the wrong call. That’s a bad one, should have been charging or boarding.
Doubtful, I can't stand TO but watching Matthews something wasn't right with him, his shot looked like a muffin, I would be shocked if he wasn't injured.Barkov.
They think throwing that word in makes them sound more intelligent, and their argument more powerfulLiterally isn't doing much in that sentence.
Man reading this thread is exhausting..
Hats off. Conserving these rare pieces of history for the future generations is the task blessed by Herodotus himself.
I guess we can both relate. Remember that hockey news cover about the Jets..hahaMan just seems like yesterday that Babcock was going to turn Matthews Marner and Nylander into a cup. I bet he's enjoying his retirement.
I think Matthews and Marner showed no heart this series.
