Paquette is in the lineup tonight for Guelph, if there is no suspension from that.:laugh::laugh::laugh:

That's a load of crap. Box score said he was assessed a game misconduct for a hit to the head. That's an automatic suspension. Only thing that may be holding it up is if there was an appeal in progress.

Nah. I just watched it again. It’s a clean hit, shoulder to shoulder but Mayotte is starting to turn towards the boards so his head hits the glass but the hit looks clean to me. Maybe give Chastity Coughlin something for running around 3rd man in type stuff, punching someone who’s already engaged though.

Agreed

What is going on with our assistant coaching? Is Blum our only assistant coach with coaching experience?

There is no assistants listed on their website. The one guy listed, Cole, is more of a video person.
Jared Nightingale took an upgrade to asst coach for the AHL Icehogs back in Nov. Greg Stefan has been helping out on the bench along with Cole since then. I don't think anyone will argue that Greg Stefan is more than qualified to stand as an assistant behind the bench. Lack of an official "Experienced" asst behind the bench hasn't hurt the team in any way. Why you so twisted up about it. Someone cut you off on the way into the office this morning?

That is not twisted You will know when I am twisted about something. Stefan has been great since the teamed moved from Plymouth. He has helped wherever needed. Plus Dent had been outstanding.

Well the tone of your post sounded all twisted. You literally posted an angry post over nothing. Why? Was not a good post and contributed absolutely nothing. You can do better.

To be honest I hadn’t really paid much attention to the coaches other than Dent. I knew Stefan (who has plenty of Head/Assistant coaching expierience at multiple levels along with his goaltending coach resume) was helping but I didn’t realize there wasn’t an official “Assistant/Associate” coach still with the team after Nightingale left. It seems a little bit like a cheapskate move to only have one official assistant coach but I can’t really argue with the results at this point. Whatever Dent is doing is working. They have occasionally came off flat but that’s decreased. They used to have quite a few D breakdowns but that has decreased. If they have a rough period, they usually come out of the break strong. The breakout has become more effective. The PK is great. The PP is improving and has become more diverse. Their neutral zone coverage is better. The entire season has been better than expected on every front. Now I’m just hoping for a return to health from Keppen, Kressler and Mayotte.

Kris Sparre was hired last year and is now no longer listed. That one is a little strange, we knew about Nightingale. Can't find anything else about Sparre.

Chris Sparre was expecting a child in the New Year, that may have something to do with his absence and lack of announcement.

I believe Sparre was on for the beginning of season and then went home as Wife had child and dont believe he returned due to family priorities.

You imagined or guessed my mood. You were wrong in both cases. I am ecstatic where we are right now with a huge weekend ahead of us.

Yes I absolutely imagined these posts:

Deline and Giroux left the game, didn't play in the 3rd. No Pitre, No Cavallin, and still got a point.

I'll take that.

Anyone else yelling at Slavicek to pass the puck to Hay. Hay was wide open and had a clear shot. They could have won IMO.

If that’s the best the Soo has then I’m not worried about them going forward. No Cavallin, Kressler, Pitre, missing Deline and Giroux for the last bit of the game, playing the 3rd string goalie who hasn’t started a game in 3 months and they still have to take it to a shootout? Flint picking up a point there is a loss for the Soo even if they want to run around like they just won the J Ross Robertson Cup. It was pointed out on the Sting forum this week what a nut job the Soo’s HC is and you can see it filters down to the lineup. They still love stuff like post whistle stick work and mouth running but aren’t actually ever going to doing anything. They’ve got serious goaltending issues, Ivanov looked as bad as Michelone and for whatever reason Tynan isn’t good anymore. Early on Flint wasn’t really helping Michelone as much as they could have but he just looks shaky. He seems to settle in and be a bit better after slow starts but his last couple have still been rough. I think he’s got potential but he’s gotta relax and gain some confidence. Was good to see Othmann become the franchise’s new single season goal scoring record holder. Keppen set a record that could stand for quite some time too. On to Windsor tonight with Day getting the start I’m sure. I really have no idea how this one is gonna go. If Flint can pull off another 2 or 3 points this weekend it’ll be HUGE.
