True Chicago deep dish can only be had in Chicago….
I really don't understand the cultural reverence everyone has for Chicago style pizza. You can make it at home. it's not particularly special.

I've had Uno's and Giordano's
And my buddy from Chicago will always bring a few back (from whatevers at the top rated) on the plane when he visits his family.

I think the cultural reverence is way more impressive than the pizza itself.

It's a super rich, pie with a way too buttery-crust. And all my Italian friends are offended by it:

I mean it's not bad, but pizza to me is like sex. Even when it's bad it's still pretty good.

My preference is still towards classic italian style thin-crust pizza with nicer toppings, or a dirty thin new york style slab.

Jon Stewart is more passionate about his disdain for Chicago style Pizza:

He signed a contract, that's the entire point of each parties responsibility and obligations, his contract doesn't have a full no movement clause in it. Sorry no love lost for any of these athletes whom are paid millions.

In the real world when 2 parties sign a contract and one party decides to not honor the stipulations in the contract a lawsuit is filed to enforce the contract or recoup and financial damages encountered... Sorry MAF has no excuse here he knowingly signed the contract and agreed to its terms...
I had no idea?

He can chose not to report though, and waive the final few payments of his enormous contract. But yeah, we would love to have him in Edmonton if we could make the money work.

95% of the Pizza sold in Chicago is thin crust. Deep dish is what out of towners think we eat all the time when it’s more of a dining out thing or when family comes to town.
Nice, thanks for the cultural info, always happy to learn.

Thats like saying real Donair can only be had on the east coast . It where the first Donair appeared . I still haven't found anywhere better then eastern Canada to have a Donair but that doesn't mean it the only place to get a true Donair .

Fleury probably is using his 10 team NTC to block trades to teams that want him. That's probably it.

Glad to see you acknowledge that you didn't realize his contract was structured that way..
MAF is trying to use a emotional arguement which I find disgusting, because he is making millions of dollars like many other athletes whom have the world by the butt with all the treatment they receive and there families plus they have agents whom have reputations to protect by providing excellent service in handling there affairs.

Bottom line he has been in the league since 2003 and signed many contracts so he understands his rights and those are the terms he agreed to...

Edmonton or Washington would be ideal cup contenders..

Edmonton is a cup contender? Who knew. They'll have to make the playoffs first I guess.

Yes your absolutely correct they need to make the playoffs first. They have alot of pieces in place to make it to the cup, vegas and Colorado are the 2 teams that edmonton would need to get past..

But look at 2012 LA or 2014 rangers neither was expected to make it to the cup series...

One team was a fluke the other a borderline dynasty, and this oilers team isn’t close to being a dynasty. So you’re arguing to be a fluke? Fluke =/= contender…

Probably part of it. It’s really easy to take a trade list down to 2-3 less teams than the number on the contract just by the teams you put on it.

The playoffs are always filled with surprises and upsets, with the few exceptions of established teams chicago/Pittsburgh/Tampa/Detroit...

Look at st Louis they were dead last right after Christmas they went on a run m and followed that through to a stanley cup Bennington was a fluke ..

They wouldn't even move TBH, since he'd be a rental, he'd just be away for a couple months. But that's probably what it comes down to.

Yeah, it is a bit surprising since it would only be short term and then he can retire in a high note potentially.

If he’s retiring after this year, kind of a weird way to end it

Adding Hagel I guess would be wise for chicago. Hagel might not produce the same type of numbers next year

Which of Roberson, Knies, Niemela, a first and Mrazek for Fleury and Hagel? Seems light for a great goalie at half retained, a good forward and taking Mrazek back. I can't see Leafs fans happy about that kind of report either.
Ty Voit has to be on the table too

Connor Murphy would make more sense to me than hagel
