Marchy is a unicorn trust me I'm a bruins fan I know him. The east is screwed with this move tonight.
Marshy is one of my two favourite Bruins. I am also a Bruins fan and got to watch him all his career. I know he might get to it, but at 39, I always tend to be careful, expectations are made on what he did, not where he might currently be

Simple solution, switch the revenue split to 60-40 for the players and I'm sure there'd be little push-back.
Just ban the NMC regarding trades and this will be fixed players should have no power to where they wanna go they lucky enough to play in the NHL these guys should do a normal retail job for example to see what's it like out there.

...you seriously think you can get Hellebuyck by offering picks 4+ years away??...if ANY NHL GM did that, they should be fired out of a cannon immediately...
Few of us Florida fans are really that concerned about acquiring Helley. Our Vezina goalie sucked behind the AHL team last year, so we're mostly hoping for better injury luck. Having said that, we could still use an average goalie or two.

I'm not sure you get how negotiations between unions and owners go. Yes, they are a thing.

I'm fine with NMC or NTC's but after the age of 30. After 30 guys have families established and I'm fine with giving them that option.... if they've earned it.

Unfortunately if a large number of teams agree not to give them out you'll have at least one team who;s willing to go against the grain...

Guaranteed an organization like Vegas would be waiting in the weeds to use it against other teams who refused to hand them out.

I disagree…

It’s not dealing Brady that’s the issue. It’s not getting a decent roster player back that is bad business.

Three first round picks is ok value on paper but there’s no guarantees they amount to anything. It’s not a great message to send the roster today that’s expected to be entering playoff contention every year.

The only first round pick Ottawa plans on using this year is their own, and that's only because the NHL is forcing them to since it was given back to them after the whole Vegas trade fiasco with Dumbo Dorion.

That means we still have two 2026 1st rounders to play with at the draft to get a good player (Robertson?).

Not to mention future 1st rounders next year and Florida's 2029 1st round pick.

There's an opportunity to get very creative next Friday.

Who is your franchise player then? How many Sens are of his stature?

I know he betrayed the fans, but he must have been considered the face of franchise at one point.
He was literally screaming this is my house after scoring goals in last years playoffs and senator fans absolutely loved it. Lol turncoats

Unions are too powerful now this is why this is happening in my opinion. NMC clauses are killing teams and fans bases are getting pissed.
Agreed. Fans and owners. If I'm the Senators right now I'm pissed this guy had this much control over my roster and the future of my team.

This should be a major point of negotiation for the next CBA. Too many teams and fan bases getting f***ed because of silver spoon nepo babies.

He might have been considered the face of the franchise at one point, but that doesn't mean his talent level merits the title of franchise player.

I believe Stutzle and Sanderson are the Sens only franchise players.

NBA had a similar problem with long term contracts. Players wouldn't care about playing well. But teams were stuck with them and fanbases suffered during long stretches of bad records. Then they limited contract durations.

I'm very curious what goes out and buys with those picks. They don't want to go back into a rebuild. That's for sure. I'll be surprised if they draft the 9th OA pick.

I feel for the sens fans it seems they have to keep rebuilding every 5 years . This league has a bad leak and it's called NMC. Owners should lock out the players and get something done.

I guess it depends on what you mean by face of the franchise. Are you talking as a brand or ability?

Interms of brand, Brady Tkachuk was the biggest. If your talking ability? I don't know any franchise players who are 11th on their team in TOI/GP.
