Yeah but Jagr was still a 1st line player. Thornton definitely is not, most likely 4th line. Whatever, I'm fine with it. Maybe he goes beast mode in the playoffs, if Q keeps him fresh throughout the year and doesn't ride him like Seabiscuit.

I was just talking about his age. Nothing else

This virtually guarantees that Thornton will pass Coffey and Recchi for 12th in points, and he has a shot for passing Coffey for 6th in assists.

The players ahead of him in those categories are worthy. This is as it should be.

Sign random no-name to league minimum who will hardly ever play and realistically contribute nothing vs sign we’ll-respected veteran to league minimum. Even if he hardly contributes we already have our starting 12. For the minimum it’ll be good for the kids to have him around. Q as the coach, luongo in the org, Thornton in the dressing room. No downside to it. Cool that he actually wanted to come here. Speaks volumes to how we’re viewed these days

Im sure the birds in his nest of a beard will appreciate the weather. Rip panthers fans, no cup for you. Thats his intangible.

Sharks, Leafs, Panthers.... The guy really doesn't want to win a playoff series, does he ?

good one. Didn’t the Habs just get rekt in the finals? Good luck even making the playoffs this season now that you have to play real teams
