Huberdeau and Schenn had the same amount of points last season(59), only difference is that Huberdeau has more Goals than Assists and Schenn had more Assists than Goals...

The contract the Flyers have Schenn on looks like a steal compared to Huberdeau's deal.

I wouldn't call Huberdeau better then Schenn and I wouldn't call Schenn better then Huberdeau I believe they are in the same category of players.

Barkovs contract is going to be one of the best in the near future, but that doesn't make this a joke, it's a fair deal.

They've signed Barkov, Huberdeau, Trocheck, Bjugstad, Smith all for less than Oilers signed their 6M players years ago.
Florida just won the division with those guys.

Schenn has a 4 year contract starting now, Huberdeau has 1 more year left on his bridge and then he's signed for 6 years.
4 years at 5.125M vs 6y at 5.9M, Schenn also has just 1 +50 point season in the NHL, Huberdeau has posted 2 +50 seasons in a row.
You really need to look at more than just the cap hit.

He'll get 50% lower than huberdeau if the yotes are looking to offer a fait deal and not overpay. Over the past two years huberdeau has 103 pts in 155 games while rieder has 58 pts in 154 game. One is a legit 1st line forward, who has the potential to get 70 pts, while rieder is a 3rd line forward who may become a 2nd line player. Two different players and cases. Huberdeau is part of the Panthers core, Rieder is a replaceable piece within the yotes organization and won't be valued like huberdeau is with the panthers.

Ha u say that like it's fact... maybe know what your talking about before throwing out statements as facts...he is an elite playmaker that will flirt with 70points next year.. if he does that this contract is a steal... if he stays around 60 which isn't likely then it's fair market value.. simple
 
Panthers fans have to be on cloud nine. Their young core is basically all locked up long term.

Even if you think they are the same tier, you're overlooking RFA and UFA years. The gap between them is huge now. If you're paying 4M for RFA, you're paying 6M+ for an equivalent UFA year.

Schenn's contract has 2 UFA years bought out. Huberdeau's new contract has 4 bought out. They really can't be compared like you are.
 
Considering the AAV of this contract, Gallagher's contract at $3.75 million is an absolute steal. Huberdeau is good, not $2 million better than Gallagher
Florida is the new Edmonton. How did their $6 million "Triplets" work out?

Maybe 5 years ago when the cap was lower (JVR comes to mind) you get a guy his age and with his production locked up for that much, but now? No chance. This contract will look like a steal in a few years.
