1 of the fab 4 reporters breaking another signing or trade 10 minutes before team announces it themselves.

Higher contract commitment than I expected from both sides on term and money, but he has every opportunity to improve.

Not going to pretend I follow Panthers hockey; my opinion is mostly due to the fact he's never really lit the world on fire thus far in his young career. Hope he lives up to expectations.

I was kind of half-expecting less (particularly as compared to Barkov), but that was probably an unrealistic expectation to begin with. It's not a great deal per se, but it hardly qualifies as "bad" or "overpayment". Seems close to or at fair market value to me, really.

Hall is #3 ranked LW behind Ovechkin and Benn, and just ahead of Gaudreau at #4.
Huberdeau is #18.

Hall is not even a top 50 player according to the NHL, meanwhile Gaudreau is top 30.

Don't even know why Hall is being brought up in this thread though . . .

Solid deal for both parties.

Florida locking up their young core, They will be a team challenging for years to come.

The D looks like it could go either way with the moves they made this summer. Yandle is a specialist and he's getting big money for a long time, it could work out but it could also turn into an unmitigated disaster.

Will be interesting to see if the "all analytics all in" approach pays off. I'm skeptical.

Maybe because he signed a 6 million a year deal 3 years ago? But prices keep going up Tavares is still under 6mill it only makes sense to compare to players signed this year.

This Panther fan thinks that WAYYYYYYY too much. Holy overpayment.

4.5-5mil tops for this dude. :shakehead

How exactly were you planning on signing him for that?
It would be impossible.

Can't believe some complaining about 1st liner getting paid less than 6.

This is definitely good value and will look great in few years.
Just from Columbus Saad is one comparable.

Buying Hubs best years at 5.9 :handclap:

Huby is a top 8-12 LW playmaker ALREADY and easily top 15-20 LWer in league taking big leaps to his game. No longer gets pushed off the puck, sick ice vision, underrated shot release that needs to be used more often, skating got better but needs to improve a bit more which should happen this offseason, a workout beast off the ice, good teammate. What's not to like ?

Overpaid a ton in comparison to Barkov. This is a joke.

So because they got a great contract on one player every other deal is crap by comparison? I don't think you understand how this works...

Besides, someone who gets points will always have more value than someone who's a defensive or two way player.

This shows why they were desperate to clear Bolland off the cap. Good move to lock up the core of the team.
