I've been told by a few people that I'm out of touch for doubting that it's now normal to make consent videos after sex. But nobody has shown me evidence that this is even remotely a normal or common thing that people do.

Maybe you can be the person who, after calling me out of touch, actually shows me evidence that post-sex consent videos are now a common occurrence.
Maybe you can call Nielsen yourself and ask if they have done a deep dive on the topic? My guess is you will go internet ninja and use words like "anecdotal" in your response, but here is a go at bringing you into current reality:

Maybe this is common in swinger communities but no way is this normal in the everyday world. I’d love to see a girl’s reaction if a guy pulled this out. And that would hold no sway in a courtroom. Coercion is a big part of rape and people can be forced to sign their naname.
How do either of you know?? Lol do you ask your friends if they consent form before sex

I'd legit be curious at what point a man says no.lol

most beautiful consenting girl in the world me and 1 friend.. 2 friends... 3 friends... 4 friends

These guys got to 8.lol

Obivously, situation reversed... me and 1 girl, 2 girls, 3 girls...

Totally different numbers.lol
I mean you can find people that would like pretty much any situation tbh .

This isn't about the gang bang its just consent that matters imo

Like watching a gangbang while eating pineapple pizza is a perfectly fine kink to have

You're forgetting the hot pepper exception. Pineapple can go on pizzas as long as paired with some form of hot pepper, especially deep dish.
Hehh... The only hot pepper I use on pizza are smoked mild-ish chiles, usually blended in the sauce.

Rick Westhead from TSN is saying that these types of cases don't go to trial for several years after charges have been laid.

Are the speculated players going to be on leaves of absence for years?

If so, their careers are done.

And if they are found "not guilty", then the lawsuits for damages and lost present/future incomes will be enormous.

Lawsuits against whom?

Lawsuits against whom?
London Police. Crown Attorney's office. The complainant (although she won't have any money to give in a lawsuit).

If you were accused of a crime that ruined your career and cost you millions of dollars, only to be found "not guilty", then would you sit back and do nothing about it?

Would you eat it where pineapple was the crust?? Like instead of dough and then pizza stuff on top ?
I would eat that in a bar.
I would eat that in a car.
I would eat that on a plane.
I would eat that on a train.
I would eat that here and there.
I would eat that anywhere.
I would eat that in a box.
I would eat that with a fox.
But I will not eat green eggs and ham,
I will not do it Sam I Am.

I'd weigh my legal options, all the while being conscient of the fact that losing millions on top of having already lost millions is very counter-productive.

The accused only have to show the existence of a reasonable doubt, which can definitely exist without any of the Police, the Crown or the Complainant having committed any fault (that's a gross oversimplification of the threshold they'd have to meet).

You are amazingly out of touch with where the world is on the topic of consent. There are a multitude of free legal forms available online that people print out and mutually execute prior to having sex to ensure they do not run into problems later on.

This reminds me of that Black Mirror episode where they agree to consent on their watches I think it was.

London Police.
If they can prove investigative negligence - which isn't just "they did an investigation that resulted in charges against us but we weren't found guilty" but would require things like creating evidence, destroying exculpatory evidence, intentionally coaching witnesses to make certain statements, and any act clearly illegal and/or clearly intended to try and cause certain charges to be brought (or not be brought) and/or cause a certain verdict to be reached - then sure. Sue away.

Good luck with that, though.

Crown Attorney's office.
If they can prove prosecutorial misconduct - which isn't just "they brought charges but couldn't prove the case and we were found not guilty" but is a considerably higher standard to reach and would require proving the Crown knowingly continued with a prosecution that was not justified - then sure. Sue away.

Good luck with that, though.

If they can prove she knowingly lied as part of getting the case brought, then sure. Sue away.

What great oracle do you have access to that the rest of us don't.
Let’s recap here:

1) I said I didn’t think it was normal to pull out a phone and ask a woman to film a consent video after sex.

2) You and a couple others called me out of touch and assured me that this is indeed now common.

3) I’ve asked all of you for evidence.

4) I’ve received none.

This is not how this works, and besides neither the police nor the Crown have any effect on their earning abilities as they await trial. In the case of victory, the defendants would likely just be happy they don't get to spend any time behind bars, and given the disturbing details we know about the case so far I think they would and should be ecstatic in that scenario.

That's not really what he was saying though, and you know it.

Off-topic and not directly related to this case: I used to be on the side of letting what happens in jail go on as a sense of "street justice" but that's not usually how it plays out. Rape in jail is a huge problem and very often happens to non-violent offenders. Gangs and crooked prison guards are not doling out justice because they care about victims. They're doing it for the same reasons people sexually assault outside of jail. (I don't know how to do a spoiler button, but included a story below.)

One example in the sea of thousands was a young guy by the name of Daniel Williams in Alabama. You may have heard of him as his story got pretty big late last year. 22 years old serving a 1 year sentence for property theft. He was due to be released in 2 weeks but instead was tortured, tied up, and sexually assaulted for the last two days of his life by a prison gang. Its more often than not people like that who face this kind of "street justice."
You can find an outlier for every situation. The situation mr. Williams got himself into is very unfortunate, but i can't say rapists who destroy lives don't deserve the same treatment he's gotten.

I know first hand what Canadian prisons and it's justice system are like, and 1/3 of a light sentence in a protection block wouldn't be close to enough punishment if i was the victim's father.

That's if they're guilty of course. Honestly in that case, the media circus that will ensue after their names are revealed is probably going to hurt them a lot more than the judge.

I’m not saying I know how to fix this, but the fundamental issue is that all available data suggest that underreported sexual assaults are far, far more prevalent than false accusations. (My personal experience supports this insofar I am aware of multiple instances of false accusation and an absolute avalanche of unreported sexual harassment instances.)

In baseball tie goes to the runner, right? In our legal system, a “tie” (he said vs. she said with no other info) goes to the rapist in many cases.

I’m not disagreeing with innocent till proven guilty. But the above is very necessary context for where things sit today. The current system benefits the bad deeds of abusers far more than it benefits the bad deeds of false accusers.

I'm genuinely curious how to quantify something that wasn't reported.

I'm confused by the angle from some that requires a conviction for any kind of suspension to be merited otherwise the players should pursue legal action. Conviction isn't needed. Doing or having done something that makes the NHL look bad and potentially lose business is all it takes. Hope the train was worth it. I can't possibly imagine that it was...

F'd around and found out. C'est la vie.

Yes you did, you simply chose to ignore and stay inside your bubble.

If they find proof that she was ok with all these players at the hotel I don’t know how you get anywhere with this case lol. Like that should be pretty easy to see once they accessed all the players texts along with hers. So how do you sell this is assault if you agreed to a gangbang lol.
