You're forgetting the hot pepper exception. Pineapple can go on pizzas as long as paired with some form of hot pepper, especially deep dish.
Gross.

It says the five players have already been told to surrender to police. So if a player hasn't been contacted by police, they already know they're in the clear, no?

Also, why aren't the police just arresting them already. How does it work.. the police call their individual cell phones and tell them to come down to the station so we can arrest you? I thought the cops just go to their door and take them out in cuffs? Especially for such a serious crime.

And then no names. Someone mentioned that a publicity ban can sometimes happen so what if that's the case here. If there's no names, then why is this being put out there already and even before any arrests are made
I think being charged is different than being arrested, no?

First 10 results clearly showed it is not fringe for people to get consent on video.
Did you look at the search results? 2 are concerning filming people without the consent. One is a reddit discussion on /r/Mensrights most are opinion pieces that dont exactly say they think this should be the new norm. Not to mention they are all discussions from 5 years ago. These search results definitely dont scream anything but fringe.

That being said if someone gives consent while scared and intimidated, is that consent valid?

Maybe this is common in swinger communities but no way is this normal in the everyday world. I’d love to see a girl’s reaction if a guy pulled this out. And that would hold no sway in a courtroom. Coercion is a big part of rape and people can be forced to sign their name.
While it might not sway a courtroom (then again, this discussion proves it could sway potential jurors) it creates another hurdle for the victim to overcome. Not only does she need to prove she was raped, but now she has to prove that she was coerced into signing a statement of consent (or verbalizing a recorded statement of consent).
It seems like this tactic would benefit rapists far more than regular guys wanting to engage in consensual sex.

Yeah, if I were a girl and a guy whipped this out my alarm bells would be ringing. I’d either be thinking he’s been accused of stuff in the past or he’s planning to do something I might have an issue with

Charged is the paperwork portion. Arrested is physically going to get the charged person.

For certain crimes, if lawyers are already involved, charged people can voluntarily go to the police station to be processed and usually released soon after. Police doesn't need to go arrest someone if they accept to come down to the station.

32 thoughts podcast dropped and right at the start they talk about it.

Friedman states that he was told by lawyers to be very careful with what he shares between now and I'm assuming February 5th as it could cause a lawsuit if that turns out to be false.

So, likely why hfboards want you to try and tow that thin line.

I mean, look at how we did it with the Perry reason. Was funny to us, but wasn't true at all.

What if you were hammered, and barely able to read, let alone reason? Is it tough shit for you, you're fair game to get taken advantage of?

This is the Crowns case to prove (if it goes to trial) and we have no idea what evidence they have. So many people involved (directly and indirectly), and with the stakes this high its not hard to imagine a scenario where evidence has been obtained that would corroborate. I have zero idea how this is all going to play out.

If you actually read the description of events, you'd realize that there is suspicion both vids were recorded after the events had already happened. In the first vid, which may have been taken more immediately after the events happened, she is crying. In the second, she's trying to get out of the hotel (it's 4:30am) and she says what they want to hear, "yeah, it's fine", etc.

You can connect the dots everywhere online except HFboards
Both Frank Seravalli and Elliotte Friedman said they were told to tread lightly.

Congratulations on being the 500th person to provide an article that lets the reader make an implication that the reporter isn't willing to directly connect for legal reasons.
Interesting. Scrolling through the thread, I didn't see one posted. I think your estimate is extremely exaggerated. ;)

I've been in your shoes. 20 years later, I still have PTSD from trying to herd the chickens in here. I can't tell which one I have done/still do that is more a pain in the ass...being an HF Moderator or a Men's Rec Hockey Referee.
I don't have PTSD from it, but I do recall it was a thankless job. Even if I don't agree with some things that occurred since I stepped down, or even things that occurred when I was in a different color, I still have respect for [almost all of] the people who decide they want to do it.

Wonder what's wrong with you all, knowing at one point you were on the other side and that once you got "into the club" you realized oh shit, this isn't as easy as it looks and you still stuck with it, but still know it's by and large a thankless job and requires real dedication.
