I'm not commenting on the overall exchange with the other poster, but this caught my eye. Taken at face value, that could be a fair statement. Unfortunately, in cases like this the dark specter of "false accusations" invariably comes up under the guise of good intentions, but with a real intent of discrediting victims in not just the case being discussed, but with any complaint of sexual violence.
The status quo is to not believe women, and there are a lot of men who are happy to maintain that.
Of course, that is not everyone's motivation, but you can tell when the men's rights activists start buzzing.
