Perhaps, but even so that only makes the Flames org guilty of being dumb, not malicious.I don't know, what I do know is that the Flyers and Devils organizations simply refused to elaborate which sure as hell looks better today than what the Flames did.
It’s wild to continue playing a player knowing what was going to happen. The whole league knew long time ago. It's a small world and half the players are still very young and talk a lot. They probably just hasn't had the confirmation just yet. But other GMs knew and they let them know for sure
It's all of that but it's also a problem in youth athletics in general. These are kids who are told from a very young age that they need to take what is theirs, that they're the best, that they deserve everything. There aren't people surrounding them to keep them in line and tell them no. They have access to everything they want and that feeds an already very unhealthy mindset. It's incredibly disturbing that you can take a group of 20 ish hockey players and (at least) five of them are capable of doing something like this. Whether you want to blame hockey culture, hockey Canada, or just men being pigs on general, this is really upsetting.
Either way their careers are done.Is it really likely that they're going to be able to prove this beyond reasonable doubt?
Does it really matter?Flames could have said "taking a leave of absence for a personal matter".
Mental health is a personal matter. There was no need to specify.
Sens are still gonna lose a 1st for this somehow. When the Ottawa Senators don’t have a PR f***up and you do, that’s extremely impressive
Hats off to Calgary
They don't speak Russian in SwitzerlandTime for these rape-enthusiasts to start learning Russian
It's one thing to connect the very obvious dots and have near certainty that we knew who the players in question were, it's another thing to actually be a reputable sports news organization with inside sources that can confirm it.
The players were formally charged is my guess. Once they're charged, it goes on the docket and is considered public. How did TSN figure it out the names when nobody on this board could?
Mind blowing journalism there.
When the Ottawa Senators don’t have a PR f***up and you do, that’s extremely impressive

If 1 of the guys flips or they have in court testimony from 1 of the guys in the room but not involve then yes, if all 7 keep the same story than its going to be toughIs it really likely that they're going to be able to prove this beyond reasonable doubt?
Honestly man just give it a rest. You're accusing the flames of covering up a story that everyone knew would be national news within weeks. No reason to believe the Flames org did anything wrong.
I'm not saying it was malicious intent, maybe it was a miscommunication. But it sure does look bad now, and the Flames probably should address it somehow. Probably won't happen before the charges are official, but then something needs to happen.Perhaps, but even so that only makes the Flames org guilty of being dumb, not malicious.
Literally zero chance of this
You are literally proving my point, thanks!
Yup, their careers are 100% over.
It only happens because reporters know that it's something reporters are not allowed to ask about, Even if they don't identify the players by name, reporters will lose access if they ever asked. And so everyone pretends they don't know what they know. It’s wild to continue playing a player knowing what was going to happen.
"GUYS, LOOK OVER HERE, IT'S THE ALL-STAR WEEK, WOO, DO NOT LOOK OVER THERE, OVER HERE, ALL-STARS BABY!"I'm surprised Friedman/Dreger/Lebrun haven't told us about new expansion destinations yet today.
The Flames definitely need to make a statement about exactly what unfolded, I agree.I'm not saying it was malicious intent, maybe it was a miscommunication. But it sure does look bad now, and the Flames probably should address it somehow. Probably won't happen before the charges are official, but then something needs to happen.
It was sarcasm. The players were formally charged is my guess. Once they're charged, it goes on the docket and is considered public.
username doesn't check out.
I need a lawyer. What can player one be charged with? While it is disgusting what does texting your buddies to come sleep with a drunk chick get as opposed to the guys that slept with her without her consent?Player one allegedly had consensual sex with the victim while arranging for the alleged group assault that happened later in the evening/morning. He was the architect so to speak, and I'm guessing the best looking out of the group.
Whether they are found guilty or not, their NHL careers are most likely over. I can’t see a team touching them with a 10 foot pole. Different sports, but look at what happened to Trevor Bauer in the MLB or Matt Araiza in the NFL. It’s just not worth the trouble or fan scrutiny at games
