I believe Formenton was player 1. Two years ago didn’t they say player one was connected to the London Knights way back two years ago, that’s why people originally assumed Robert Thomas was player1Judging by the mugshots, McLeod was player 1.
I can't believe for even a moment that they didn't know. The NHL is a small world. These guys' names have surely been circulating for a while. The young woman sued in 2022 -- the teams of these guys didn't start trying to figure out then who was on the list? Yeah, right. It looks like the Senators knew Formenton was involved pretty much instantly, for example.
No way. Not because they wouldn't from some moral pov, but because if they did they might be forced to answer questions about it. And they're not going to to do that. No, it's over for those players. And part of it is because hockey lifers never want to talk about what they know.An NHL team probably doesn't want to deal with the PR hit for an AHL tweener like Cap Foote. But for a potential starting goalie like Hart, if they don't think the PR hit would be that bad, they'd be more likely I think.
If that happens I hope players sue Rick Westblood and London police.
any word on if they may be sharing lawyers?
Or how does this work?
All in court at the same time?
Seperate court cases?
Not to familiar with cases like this.
I doubt they would do it, but that could meet the threshold for a conspiracy to commit charge.I need a lawyer. What can player one be charged with? While it is disgusting what does texting your buddies to come sleep with a drunk chick get as opposed to the guys that slept with her without her consent?
I would think they could have just done what the Flyers did and announce the leave of absence and leave it at that. No reason to add the mental health aspect unless they truly had zero idea this was coming down the pipeline.Doubt they had much choice if that’s what the player said.
What incentive would the team have to call it ‘mental health’ when it’s not - especially when they knew the news would be coming out anyway? It’s not like they were trying to cover it up.
Is it really likely that they're going to be able to prove this beyond reasonable doubt?
Many will be offended. I have a dark sense of humour. I am not offended at your Mitch Hedbergesque quip.Only if it's a girl, and with golf clubs.
Whether they are found guilty or not, their NHL careers are most likely over. I can’t see a team touching them with a 10 foot pole. Different sports, but look at what happened to Trevor Bauer in the MLB or Matt Araiza in the NFL. It’s just not worth the trouble or fan scrutiny at games
As it should be. Look at the Matt Araiza thing in college football. Lost his shot at the NFL over what amounted to be nothing, yet will still be guilty in the eyes of many.
We live in a world with social media where idiots are quick to judge before facts are out, and slow to back track when they're proven wrong. Publication bans are much needed.
Would they split this into two maybe? One being player 1 aka ring leader and then one being the followers?YOu can't share lawyers - it's a conflict of interest.
It's in the discretion of the Crown whether they want to lay one information jointly charging all five Accuseds, or lay five separate informations separately charging all five. The advantage to a joint information is you only have one trial, not five, but obviously makes that one trial much more complicated.
The payoff happened earlier, and the independent investigation involving Rideout happened in 2018. It's that investigation that reopened things.reportedly hockey canada was already talking with her and trying to convince her on certain topics to change parts of her story, They paid for it to go away and bought her silence---when did that start
that would be soo messed up, say they rape the mom so they guy would be charged for raping his own momSo you invite a friend of yours to your house/hotel room and go to sleep. That friend of yours commit a crime for example r apes someone when you sleep. So you're guilty of rape? Is that your logic?
Uhm I’m pretty sure knowing you’re about to be charged with SA will f*** up your mental health. Why are people so worked up about that tweet? Clearly the process of having to answer for your actions will affect you mentally. So it’s not a lie. Dube has also been pretty Garbo this year, it’s evident this situation has affected his play
Honest question, do these guys continue to get paid throughout the proceedings?
AKA: "Damn, people found out we botched the investigation. Guess we have to actually look into it now".Going by what's stated here:

Specifically:
And:
It may have just come down to public pressure to take another look when the civil case had been reported. Perhaps there ends up being more to it than that, but as far as I can tell, that's what forced their hand.
From what I gathered, unless they're terminated, they're suspended with pay.Honest question, do these guys continue to get paid throughout the proceedings?
Would they split this into two maybe? One being player 1 aka ring leader and then one being the followers?
Feel there are different charges between the two anyway, as player 1 seems to have been giving consent at one point
