Why wouldn't the Flames just say "Leave of Absence"? There was just no need to include the mental health part and its such a bad look now.
If Dube told them it’s a mental health leave, the Flames are obliged to say that. Dube lying about it is on him, not the Flames.Sooo i'm really confused by the Flames agreeing to say Dube was leaving due to mental health reasons....Seems like a terrible move on their part.
Sweet! Now that all of the names are out there, I can go hang out on the beach for awhile. Have fun, everyone.

I guarantee he's having major mental health issues right now.Why wouldn't the Flames just say "Leave of Absence"? There was just no need to include the mental health part and its such a bad look now.
I never would have guessed those were the last 4!![]()
Sources confirm NHL players facing charges in sexual assault investigation | TSN
Four NHL players – Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Dillon Dube, and Cal Foote – have been directed to surrender to police in London, Ont., to be charged with sexual assault in connection with an alleged incident that occurred during a Hockey Canada event in the city in June 2018, two sources...www.tsn.ca
@Bear of Bad News
he is building his case of diminished capacity“Dillon is under the care of health professionals”
Are lawyers health professionals?
I’m sure every SA victim who has had to take a medical leave for PTSD/depression/anxiety due to their assault is just thrilled to see someone who is on leave for being charged with SA to issue a statement implying their leave is due to mental health issues and not their legal troubles
It absolutely is a lie of omission. There was no need for them to put out the statement at all but instead they chose to use disingenuous reasons even though it would be reasonable for this to be affecting his mental health
we might not like it--all hockey is circling the wagons to protect these players and certain media outlets are bending over backwards to make the victim look badWhere’s the Calgary Flames apology tweet about Dube? Don’t use that mental health tactic on this shit, be better.
Doubt they had much choice if that’s what the player said.Such a disgusting move by the flames to say it was a mental health issue for Dube
That was Binnington, I believehe is building his case of diminished capacity
now that carter hart's name is out there. Was he the goalie the Oilers nearly acquired only to have it call a part at the last moment? IT was interesting the radio silence after the trade did not happen
I thought that to but the Oiler media shot that one downThat was Binnington, I believe
we might not like it--all hockey is circling the wagons to protect these players and certain media outlets are bending over backwards to make the victim look bad
I think I read somewhere that the victim didn’t actually say no and also did not say yes in the moment as many SA victims are paralyzed by fear or shock or do not know how to react in the moment. And it sounds like they came in and immediately performed acts on her without giving her the opportunity to consent. But the next morning the victim reported what happened. That’s my interpretation from all I’ve read but I could be wrong.
So there's apparently a video now..
I'm not a lawyer, but is this case supposed to extrapolate non-consent due to intoxication despite "verbal consent" what the case is about?
Because this seems like its going to get really murky really quickly. And even if any random chance the players win, they might not be welcome back to their NHL teams, and certainly won't be embraced by the fans.
