10 km at 8km pace and feeling great. Need to squeeze another 12km in tomorrow. Should be doable. Man I regret not doing this years ago haha.

Did 10km yesterday and another 8 today and subtracted another 15 seconds. This shit is ridiculous, lol, I did 4km today without my heart rate breaking 138 and before needing to walk. Could have jogged the 8km without a problem if not for heart rate. This is quite honestly my favourite training I’ve ever done and it’s so damn simple. I ate a bit much last couple of days though, so I might try to get another 8km in tonight.

Coming back to Canada tomorrow, didn’t see any of it, loved flagstaff, did a good 30k on the arizona trail today at the base of snowbowl
Yes it would have been unlikely but your odds would have greatly increased had you ran with some freshly butchered pork-chops tucked into your pant pockets.

Yes it is very nice area, good weather?

Results are in, while in AZ I've run just over 85k in 5 days. Below what I was expecting but like I said earlier, the elevation really killed me up north

I’ve gotta say I’m halfway through week 3 of zone 2 training and the results are incredible. With no added effort and a heart rate maintained around 138-140bpm I have already shaved off 1 minute 20 seconds per km. If you’re a noob to running and you are not doing this then you are doing it wrong imo.

I feel like I’ve got so much left in the tank and I recover in no time and I can sustain this forever. I did 5km this morning at 5am and just finished an 8km run now. I could go again, but I’m trying not to get ahead of myself here. I’ve never been this impressed with a running routine. No injuries, no soreness, no yo-yoing, just constant progression. Loving it baby.

High altitude is tough even when not taxing oneself. Just going from observatory to observatory, you can feel the laboring to a degree.

That's the only thing I do for ultra distances,

Did 19km run yesterday. Might be the longest I’ve ever done. My plan was to jog out to mispec beach which I had guesstimated to be 7-8km away. Turns out it was 9.5km away. I had no issues with it. A bit sore, but otherwise feeling great.

I thought I’d sleep well from being tired, but I think the opposite happened, I was still kind of pumped. Lolol. Sleep was dogshit, but I’ll make up for it tonight

8km last night and another 30 seconds per km shaved off. This is what I look forward to the most each day now.

For those that have bell and speak french, Laurent Duvernay has a docu series on Canal D, first episode is about doping in sports. Pretty interesting.

I have also been enjoying this kind of training. My approach now is to keep an eye on my HR and if I see it above 155, I will slow down or walk for a bit, until it goes below 130, and then start again. Usually takes approx 1 minute, so it's not too bad. I was just listening to music not really paying much attention and before I knew it, over an hour had passed without me even realizing. Usually I only run for 30 minutes and it always feels like a chore, and I have pain in my knees and feet the next day. Now, no pain, I feel great, I feel like I can do this for hours honestly.

It’s great and I have done it for hours. I did 19km the other day and it was over 2 hours. I took a day off after that and was back at 8km the day after. The training is amazing imo and the improvement over a short time is excellent. Nearing the end of week 4 and never felt better. Running, relaxing, energized, sleeping well and all with no nagging injuries. I’ve got to do 18km by the end of the week to get to 44km. Piece of cake.

Tested a 100k week in Arizona last week, too a break this week because I've promissed to run 400k in may for my local children hospital (raising money) so.... wish me luck.

Did it last year, wasn't a problem but I'll do a lot more of it on trail this year now that everything is dry in Outaouais. My B race of 2022 is coming up QMT50 at the end of June, A race is in September (Lost Soul Ultra in Lethbridge 100k).

Wow, 400k month. Good luck.

We'll be embarking on an around 100k one way bike trip, very leisurely but hope the recently acquired bike is friendly to the twins and Pepe:nod::crossfing

Did my 19km run Friday. Was a breeze. Usually I would need a rest day or maybe even two. I’ve done two 8km on Saturday/Sunday since. Man I never felt better. Trying to get to 60-80km a week. I’m at 54km now.

Man... reading these running distances makes me nostalgic and jealous. I used to do between 25-35 km a week until I was about 50, 8-14km per run. I've been trailing off the last few years. These days I have less time, probably a bit less energy if I'm honest. I do short runs whenever I can, between 3-5km. On the other hand, not a single injury or symptom.
