I don't know what I am doing wrong, I can't do pull ups for shit. I can hit some pretty high numbers for most lifts but pull ups just don't work for me. It's like my brain doesn't know how to get those muscles to work together.

Negatives at the end of sets! Hope it helps

I told my physio and she tried to get me to fix my form but I still can't figure it out. I am convinced I have problems with my brain engaging certain muscles
I agree with ares about working on the negatives. Part of it is just hanging off the bar in general to strengthen your forearms and shoulders. That’s why I’m glad I got a pull up bar at home because I low key would not be showing up at a gym to be doing that lmao.

Great to hear! Once you wrap your head around it, it truly is such a beneficial way to eat for a multitude of reasons. So many people think it’s more expensive just because you have to pay extra to sub the beyond burger at restaurants, but when cooking at home subbing beans in for your main protein source is just an incredibly economical swap.

Its great. I haven't felt this good physically in a long time. I'm not entirely vegetarian yet, but I'd say 75% of my meals are vegan or vegetarian and I have vegetarian weeks. One thing I've been surprised at is how tasty, creative and enjoyable the cuisine is. I'm hoping I can keep at it as it's something I've been pondering about for a long time for ethical reason. I'm at least at a point where the way I eat is sustainable.

As someone who grew up vegetarian, meat is honestly kinda nasty. If it wasn’t for the insane energy boost you get from the protein I wouldn’t even really enjoy it for the most part. Vegetarian foods when done right taste amazing.

I mean ya...just like most foods, including meat. Fruit is the only thing I eat raw that can taste amazing to me.
I love cucumbers and tomatoes but its never a "wow so tasty" reaction, and I always season them.
Meat done right taste freaking amazing too.

I’m a noob when it comes to cooking meat ngl. I’m sure it tastes much better than the simple version I can make.

Veggie food I feel like has to make up for the slower energy hit though so I rarely ever taste it served without taste. And I think it depends how you’re seasoning the veggies just like my opinion is probably based on how I season the meat.

Ya, there’s an old joke that meat eaters just eat the same 3 dead animals over and over, but there are literally thousands of plant foods. There are dozens of plant foods I’ve eaten since I started eating vegan that I never had even heard of before. So much variety of flavors out there. Even meat is flavored with spices which are plants.

Always have to throw shade at the meat hey..
Most people tend to eat the same things over and over again, no matter the diet.

Yep. If all you ever ate was lentils and rice, you could still come up with dozens if not hundreds of combinations.

The big thing to get over, and it something that I'm struggling with currently, is the ''satisfaction'' factor. By far the most satisfying vegan dish that I make is dahl. I think it's probably the coconut milk.

Only if you start adding seasonings or other ingredients.
You can't even eat rice if you don't have water...unless you like raw rice...?

Sure. But you need seasonings and other ingredients for meat dishes too. But with lentils there are many different varieties, as well as rice, and you can combine them in all kinds of different ways.

Technically, not really, all you need is fire.
Of course it tastes better with seasoning, but I've enjoyed just slapping a steak on the BBQ grill and eating it medium rare enjoying the internal juices.

But yes, once you start looking at different cooking methods, spices/seasonings, varieties..There's a lot of options for you.
It's similar for meat...many different cuts of steaks, strips, ground, fried, grilled, cubes, sauces, beef broth also used to make veggie meals, can even have it raw as a tartar.

That's just with beef, add in poultry, game, seafood...

Let's not pretend (not saying you are) meat is a narrow family of ingredients.

There is something insatiable about fat. Goes back to our days when we were basically starving most of the time. Coconut milk has it. Beyond Burgers use that fat in their products. Same with a lot of vegan cheeses. I generally eat pretty healthy but on the weekends I usually binge on high fat junk at least once to satisfy that.

Yup, the satisfaction factor is definitely key.

Same rules apply to food as romance: If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with. If it's not making your mouth water in anticipation, it'll never last.

I'd like to register a complaint. You're hearing from a highly disappointed customer here. My gripe is that I keep myself in optimum physical condition day in and out and do high intensity workouts that work the whole body with plenty of cardio, strength maintaining etc. And prior to embarking of an activity that has been dormant for an extended time, will incorporate and simulate the anticipated physical requirements in the gym or pool or both all depending on necessity and best fit. So for the last while, been prepping to hit the slopes and things went fine, took it easy at the beginning and gradually built up to the more demanding runs.No noteworthy wipe-outs but a few spills on the moguls but nothing to write home about. Afterwords got out of the vehicle and felt it already and the next day was even worse,my thighs and gluts are screaming, but in a good way if you know what I mean. Feels a bit better doing some movements and some ''self medicating'' but walking looks like I spent the night in a prison cell with John Holmes, and I had the bottom bunk! Anyways, just didn't expect to have such repercussions.:rant:

Loool at the self medicating. You’re a Habs fan it’s all good. More of an expectation than an exception with the team we’re seeing this year.

Second times a charm, is the expression right? Did a sojourn at the slopes and had no lingering side effects this time. Pushed it a little but the slopes ain't no Hokkaido that's for sure. One of our companions did have a nasty fall though,a trail of equipment that went on for a good 50 m. and we were going too fast to stop, blame that on rust and not confident. He was fine though, just needed a break after that.:phew:

So which English expression is more accurate?

You can't teach an old dog new tricks
or
You're never to old to learn

:huh::huh::dunno::dunno:

Tried snowboarding for the first time and I'm no Jean-Claude Killy but do fine with alpine or x-country and even tried sand dune skiing in the Namib, not very thrilling to say the least BTW. Give me a surfboard or even a skateboard for that matter and no problem but snowboard, pass. Just not for me,maybe the fact that you can't adjust your feat and move your legs independently:dunno: On the upside, now know how that shirt must feel during the wash cycle:rant: Did kind of got the hang of it,but not for me,not again, live and learn
