Yo bro, you’re not alone. I’ve been having a weak chest since I got vaccinated. When did you first get your shot?

It’s tough man, and if you’re in Montreal then it’s extra tough with these weird ass measures, but we gotta break through. Today I finally got my boys together and went for a run outside and holy heck man it was difficult. But I feel slightly better now. My hands are frozen solid pretty much otherwise I’d add some advice, but if you can link up with friends then do it.

Sorry to hear you’re going thru this shit man, it’s actually heartbreaking reading some of the posts in the Covid thread because everything is argumentative.
Got my 2nd in august. I can’t even snow blow the yard anymore. It’s very frustrating. I’m trying to ease my way back by going for walks and adding more distance each time, but it’s not going very quick. Everybody thinks their experience is the only experience, they’re wrong.

Yeah I’ve got lots of ppl to lean on. Thanks for the kind words.

If you rule out the physical, then the cause may be psychological. Talk to someone, spill your guts, find out if part of your symptoms are due to a panic attack or depression. Do it tomorrow and start breaking the cycle.
This has nothing to do with a panic attack, but thanks for the advice. My condition has led to my depression and mental struggles, not the other way around. I didn’t have a family doctor for years and finally got one in December. He’s seen me and he’s running more blood work. Anyways, hopefully he can get to the bottom of it. I’m getting very tired of this.

Glad you got a support system bro. Feel free to message me ever if you need a fellow fan to chat with also.

When was your first dose btw? And how old are you if you don’t mind me asking?

When it comes to the walks, just go at your own pace for sure and don’t compare it to what you could have done before all this shit. Whatever’s happening to you is part of the new you but you have to use the new you as a reference to start, as frustrating as that may be. Eventually you’ll get back to where you were and kicking ass again.

1st was about 5 weeks prior, late June. I’m 42 years old. I was running 5 days a week prior to this, 5km in 25 mins, not a speed demon, but not bad.

Thanks for the support bro, I’ll get through it and hopefully I’ll have some answers this month, but it’s been exhausting and it’s leading to other problems like lshap mentioned, mental health, depression, difficulty sleeping etc.

Sill have ongoing chest pain, rapid heartbeat and a constant feeling of discomfort. Follow up is on 23 Jan, to this point, the origin is unknown, but I’m certain I know what happened.

Anyways, this has been the most frustrating 6 months of my life, it has destroyed my mental health, I can barely function on a daily basis, it has destroyed my physical well being, being unable to exercise or do things I did with ease 5 months ago. I hope the doctor is able to find the problem and put me on a path to recovery. There is nothing more upsetting than knowing something is wrong, but no one can figure it out and being sent home with no diagnosis. I’m driving my wife nuts, I am having trouble working, my mind is not in a good place at all. Days I sit at my desk with tears rolling down my face.
You're not alone bud...
I drive into work thinking back to my precovid days..smooth sailing towards financial security, finally reaching my professional goal after over a decade hustling, relationship plans, traveling around the world, my buddy and I were cheering for xmas at a beach party in Dubai about how 2020 was going to be our year, both finally obtaining our success.
Poof..all gone, almost overnight in what feels like a never ending nightmare...but I'm dedicated to fight as hard as ever to get this back in 2022.
I'm not spending another f***ing year in limbo.

Sorry to hear Kriss. I feel for everyone who has had their career/professions stripped away from them through no fault of their own. I need to get in the positive mindset like you. I am having trouble getting there, but I know I’m not alone and I can sit and whine about it or do something about it. Seeing you post this is an uplifting message for me Kriss. I hope you gain everything back and then some. In the meantime I am going to try to apply your positive thought process to myself.
Hang in there buddy, you will get it all back.

You can put on a lot of mass so long as there is an adequate resistance and nutrition. Look how jacked up gymnasts are and most of their training comes from bodyweight form.
Kettlebells are a great tool for strength, dynamic and stability work, there's no reason they couldn't help build lean mass.
Rogue also sells kettlebells that weigh up to 203lbs..

Thanks man.

Day 2 of going to the gym. Walked out yesterday in a tshirt in -11 which felt amazing.

Collabing with all my boys to have a garage gym to go to, one guy has an insulated garage, other has all the equipment + a pitbull to play with, other 2 got boxing gear, and I got genuine hope for better days.

It’s all coming together, I know when this shit is over in summer imma be kicking ass. Let’s go boys, time to get jacked up and slap our enemies.

I am trying a challenge to minimize food costs. The idea is to spend 100 euros per month on food, get 2500 calories per day, 60 grams protein. To give you an idea of how extreme that is, that's €1.11 per meal. I am about 4 days into it, and it looks as though I miscalculated for the first week, but I won't miss by too much.

One interesting take away so far is that you can't really eat unhealthy things, and still stay on budget. Processing costs money, so the only way to meet the calorie and protein goals and stay on budget is to purchase cheap, whole, mostly plant based foods. It's also pretty hard to gain weight. In order to be in a calorie surplus, you'd have to eat basically white rice and olive oil to stay on budget.

So I met up with my friend who got the first vaccine recently and he was telling me he’s been having sharp chest pains since as well. Very active guy. Says it hurts to drink coffee now. Take that for what you will.

Also in terms of diet, I like doing carb heavy for the daytime and then end the night with 2 chicken breasts and a salad. Think I can see some serious gains although it will be expensive (but I spend money idiotically to begin with so honestly I’ll probably save money).

Little Caesers medium pizza for the day time (2000cal) for 7 bucks and then the dinner is about 1000cal for 10 bucks.

Pizza straight bussin’ today.

Managed to get my resting heart rate down significantly after just one cardio session. Actually such a joke that they close gyms, I totally get what Kriss E’s been talking about during this pandemic. The people in charge themselves are bloated imbeciles who don’t know the first thing about health.

Here’s a pic of bae before I dig into her guts:

This government has shown a complete lack of understanding and empathy towards physical and mental wellness during this pandemic.
Little mentions here and there...Telling people to get some fresh air by going on a little walk by some middle age white men with dad bods, it's embarrassing.
They've actually done nothing to help improve things. A hotline for mental support...woooow...such innovation and care.

Bon appetit..that looks tasty af.

Addiction services are really taking a hit. I know someone struggling with alcohol abuse and most of the rehab centers are referring him to other rehabs centers and there is very little support. He can get into a 7 day detox, but could be on a 3-6 month waiting list for rehab. Trying to do everything we can to find this young man some treatment as he may not have 3-6 months left if he continues on his current path.

Ya I can see that, I know three people who attempted suicide in the past year. I'm not blaming this pandemic, these people have longstanding issues, but the restrictions have definitely made it worse.

Hope you get your friend some help soon enough.

Got him scheduled to be entered into a 7 day detox on Sunday. They will call him back if a bed becomes available sooner. That process has gone pretty well, but the 7 day detox will be of no use if they release him and he can’t get any treatment for another 3-6 months.

Just bought 2 adjustable dumbbells for 729$ CAD, 10-90 lbs. Pricey but these ones will probably last me a life time at least. I felt like the lighter weights wouldn't have been enough for benching or most chest related exercises, I'm already easily at 55 lbs with a little bit of incline and I'm not even in great shape or anything.

Anybody knows a decent bench for home that lets you do decline press? The ones I see on Amazon look like they kinda/coulda let you do that but the pictures don't actually show it.

The gyms should have been placed in a separate category from every other type of venue. It’s legit the only place you’re actually gonna improve your health which is what they keep acting like this is all about, people there till this day (Deontay Wilder voice) are still cleaning up after themselves because it’s the kind of place that encourages accountability, and from what I remember they were originally having a hard time linking gyms to outbreaks.

Instead, soon as strip clubs close, they have gyms closing. Like what in the world is that?

Gyms are one of the best ventilated spaces open to the public (at least the larger commercial gyms). Non-gym members see a bunch of people breathing heavily and imagine it's a high-risk environment, but as long as air is circulating effectively, it's safe. Plus, most members wipe off the equipment after they use it, in addition to the staff who clean regularly.

The only area I admit isn't perfect is the locker room, where masks aren't always on when changing or (obviously) showering.

So yeah, I agree. It made no sense to shut them down. And of course the irony of deciding that booze and weed are essential for health, but exercise isn't.

Exactly!!! On the weed and alcohol. It’s actually screwed up.

And it’s crazy cause if the gym was the only place open, you’d see new people trying it out who just need a place to be. Obviously still have a cap on visitors, but even when I went the other day, as soon as I walked out there was a woman who started asking me questions about signing up. Met another girl today who was telling me she wanted to sign up for the gym. Smh. Government is getting in the way of girls getting more peng.
