Guess not many surfers around eh? Was in a surf shop and other aquatics sports equipment and my buddy was interested in getting a board similar to this. Not sure how others feel, but not feeling at ease riding a board that looks like food.

I thought I would revive this thread.

After 3 months of not working out (for various reasons including heavy workload and kids being at home during summer vacation), I decided to start working out again this morning as I put on 2-3 pounds during the summer. I only managed to do 15 minutes of my HIIT workout (Ladder) and had to stop as I was completely gassed. I used to be able to do 30-45 minutes a few months ago. Ugh, it's gonna be a long road back.

Getting back into it is hard. I was far removed from my fitness routine for a number of reasons. I really wanted to get back into running shape but have been derailed over and over by injuries. At one point I could not even run 15 minutes without hurting and the next day would be so bad that I'd need to take a few days off. Finally I accepted I would need to do this slow, do the right things to prevent getting hurt, and slowly build back up. A lot of very boring, short runs that weren't challenging but deep down I knew were necessary to build back better. Finally I am starting to be able to run for longer times and not hurting anymore even the next day. Feeling better overall too, from a fitness perspective.

Same here, sick of it though. Started eating cleaner than ever though, feeling rejuvenated already.

Damn that’s really good. I biked probably 100km total all year smh.
99% of it is for work, wich us 26km from home. Had to keep a good effort level so it doesnt take too long to go to work.

Had to stop, going from a village to another when its dark is not really safe.

Same boat here, fitness level completely down. Lost 15 pounds of muscles mass. Can't find the focus to get back, especially since several ailments set me back (shoulder arthritis in the AC joint for one). I also have a coccyx problem, developped during the pandemic, I guess I was sitting incorrectly for too long. Been 8 months and it is only starting to get better now. But this also annoys me for many exercises.

So motivation is below zero.

Yeah, but your drive is probably more stylish than ever. It all evens out.

Seriously, you back in the gym at least?
I'm doing both now..coaching and still at dealership..with a gf and social life...lifting has taken a back seat. Been trying to quit this dealership for months but frustratingly to no avail.
Hopefully soon and can get back to serious biz.

You end up moving to Toronto?

Brodies and brodettes, the key is really just getting your morning right. Holy, I feel so rejuvenated knowing that I can tip my hat to the morning star and dedicate myself to something, even though it may seem minuscule, and carry it forward morning after morning.

I’m gonna keep bringing this thread to the first page btw. We need be ashamed of ourselves for letting ourselves go like this.

It was pushed back to summer, but I have something else possibly lined here that's better for the summer.
Here as in Montreal? Damn was hoping I’d have more fellow transplants over in the GTA.

Montréal is going full shit hole but Toronto? Hope you're strapped, bruh.
Toronto isn’t that grimy, unless you’re actively looking for issues for the most part.

Damn those are fighting words.

Anyways, call me Stella cause my groove is back baby.
Hey Stella - congrats on getting your groove back.

A reminder of how essential exercise is for mental health. This has been one of the most difficult years of my life; without running and exercising I probably would've sunk into depression.

You fellows ever have a slipped disc in your neck? I've had one for last week. It is pure misery. Hard to sleep because once I lay down makes it twice as worst. I can sleep for about 45 minutes then the pain wakes me up.

Doc has me on Tylenol 3 with codeine for the pain, Naproxen 500 for the inflammation. Hot or cold presses whatever seems best. It helps but I cannot wait for this to heal.

For first time in my life I know what it feels like when I see old people laying in hospital beds. It is rough

Damn, that’s rough bro. Sorry to hear you’re going through that. How’d the injury occur? Also how are you spending most of your time if it hurts to lay down?

Am I allowed in on the convo here or should I beat feet up outta here?
Yeah for sure, have at it. Our health and fitness does not care about your allegiances, if anything this thread could use as much input as possible.
