Very much so. IMO it showed him to be a horrible communicator.

*and before the usual suspects chime in.......no, I'm not offended by the word f**k
Sprinkling in a bit of f-er in with all the f-in's would have been a bit of improvement. F-in this and f-in that is a terrible way to swear.
It seems we are miles behind Montreal in the swearing category as well. Nothing like a good french canadian tirade.
We can do better.

Anyone else think Keefes method of communication was a bit too f-bomb laced?
I mean, I've been known to use salty enough language that would make a sailor blush. At the least, he could have chosen a few more words than the multiple f-bombs he used in one breath. It was a bit cringe IMO. He sounded like a townie without a stitch of education.
A huge part of being a coach is effective communication. I definitely agree. Swearing can really accentuate a point but Keefe uses it every other word. Imagine he had hardly dropped an f bomb all season and came into the locker room during an elimination game and said we need to ****ing play! Not saying it would change the result but the constant f bombs will cause players to just tune out over time imo.

I do think Keefe has some good ideas. He's less of a player's coach than I thought and good at identifying problems early. Feels like the leafs need motivators.. preferably someone from the locker room. Not enough players stepped up to speak at key times (from what was shown). I hope moving forward Matthews, Marner and Nylander will understand how important it is as the best players on the team to speak up.

Could be playing to the cameras.

If he did 24-7 after every intermission and at every practice, sure. But this series was heavily edited, and plenty of times he's shown dialed back without the profanity.

Tampa missed the playoffs due to injury. Legitimate excuse. I didn't have a problem with it.

Tampa got swept hard with the greatest regular-season team of our generation and I didn't mock them......I picked them to win the cup the next season.

Toronto got knocked with injuries as bad as Tampa has faced and I also think its a legitimate excuse. I think if Matthews and Foligno are healthy and Muzzin and Tavares dont get hurt, they win the series. Probably in 5 or less actually (Muzzin doesnt even get hurt)....just like Tampa makes the playoffs if they dont get hurt....and Tampa's stars did get shut down against the Habs and almost every critical game they faced this year. You keep talking about money but it was their cheap players scoring clutch goals and our cheap players throwing games away that was the biggest contrast. Do you think 9 points from Kucherov/Hedman/Stamkos/Point (33 million) was a whole lot better than the 17 points from Marner/Matthwes/Nylander (30 million)? Tampa doesnt need excuses because they won....and they won on goaltending and clutch depth scoring.
TB never led a series 3-1 and lost.
I agree with a lot of your points but the truth is Leafs were leading 3-1 and was dominating the Habs. There was a huge drop off in terms of intensity, level of play and urgency from Game 4 to Game 5. The Leafs-all of them- didn't show up to play till they were down by a few goals. The same thing happened again in Game 6 where it seemed like Campbell was the only one who remembered it was a playoffs game. That should not happen in any playoffs games.
You might see AM and MM as playing well but they were unlucky, ultimately they are the leaders of this team and if the team struggles, they will share the blame even if they got the stats to show for it. In a way, it is a compliment bc it shows they are important to the Leafs success. Thats why you see guys who are leaders will be the first to hoist the Cup and guys like Soup or Engvall will be one of the last.

I don’t know how we blew it after the talk in the room during the playoffs, Keefes speech, Spezza trying to get the boys going gave me chills.

The Leafs were in on this production, anyone who thinks this was truly spontaneous is naive.

I like me some good hockey swearing, but Keefe was borderline annoying.

That's what I was driving at. I haven't seen the whole series, but the clips I've seen seem to me to be trying to paint Dubas and Keefe as tougher than they are perceived. Keefe has a players coach rep and Dubas is frankly perceived as a numbers need type who is in over his head. Could be doing what most "reality" shows do to spin a narrative.

I watched the first episode and enjoyed it, I skipped to the second last episode because I think I know what I'm gonna see.

Turns out, I should watch the whole thing as a Leafs fan because it's more about getting to know these players and understand the behind the scenes stuff, and it's really fascinating.

I wouldn't take a review from a non-Leafs fan with any grain of salt.

It's worth watching IMO......if you're a Leafs fan.

What if you're a Leafs fan but hate the mix of the roster, and think the coaches and management are incompetent?

Yep. For sure. Although, it's a bit weird that dropping f-bombs every second word was a calculated move by SK to look like a hardass. Like others mentioned, he comes across as more of a peasant than hardass. I can picture the players doing a great impression of him behind closed doors.

"fuclkiiiiin, let's f***ing play f***ing hard there boys."

binge watched it all and was struck by it seeming like a Kyle Dubas promo to me , not enough of the players and too much of Dubas trying to look like a master communicator and mentor every episode . Yes Keefe was shown swearing a lot but thats what a locker room is like , comments here seem to highlight who played competitive sports and who played XBox , I'd say if anything they really toned it down for the show . Liked Foligno when I thought otherwise of him at first , didn't see any real leadership from Mathews , saw more from the older bit part players , definitely not ready to be a Captain . In the end I was really left thinking about the group we had and the group we have now , was that the big chance that got away ? is this years group better ?

I don't doubt it. It's like mis-casting a soft looking person to play a super hero. Audience will reject them. Likely the case here. SK try to come off as a hard ass and that's the best he can do with the role.

I would say lighten up, don't worry about it right now, and enjoy the regular season.

If you're a Leafs fan, you already know you're going to be disappointed later on, so just enjoy the good stuff for now and laugh about it, knowing that it will end poorly.

Pretend Mats Sundin is working for the Parks and Recreation department in Sweden saving Bears, while sitting on millions of dollars, and how that's pretty cool.

Absolutely, they’re the stars of the series.

Yea, it has certainly been edited to try and present Keefe and Dubas as credible managers. It seems it worked on those you'd expect it to work on.

They should all go if they don't do anything this season.

Reality is, they shit the bed when drafting and on the Marner deal, but this is the smartest staff we've had in decades if not ever who get it....for the most part.

It would be tough going back to a guy like Burke who shits the bed on a lot more stuff than Dubas.

Keefe's speech gave you chills? Sounded like the same one I've heard in every high school football movie I've ever seen.

And don't forget, the boys on the team have been listening to his rants all season, so they've lost a lot of their impact.
