Not gonna show anything that they don't want other teams to see, just like they're not going to show anything that would get them charged with tampering
My comment was not about the breakdown of PP, advanced stats or strategy but more to do with like Keefe and Dubas acknowledging their depth are not scoring… in the beginning. Something like the PP is not working, maybe try player X instead of Y…. As for advanced stats, they didn’t even mentioned anything about it, I was expecting stuff like our analytics department gave us some good insights into this and that….

The other thing I noticed is that AM, Willie, Reilly and Marner are not taking the lead on the team. I expected them to have a more leadership and vocal role in the room. Having said that, it could just be editing and I read somewhere that the producers said Reilly was very private and didn’t want to talk much. Same as TJ.
But I just love how the whole series showed Keefe kept saying they need to play harder and fight through.

Interesting they didn’t talk about the PP or dig into advanced stats department- since I thought Leafs got one of the most funded in the league.
Also there isn’t as much about Willie and Reilly as I would like to see.
Or TJ’s excitement of being a Leafs.
Same with Simmonds.

Imagine spending so much on analytics and having nothing to show for it. Sad.

I love how Keefe is driven absolutely crazy by the teams inability to hold and close out a lead, it’s something that is meme worthy for this leafs team. Without getting into the stats there’s just no way other playoff teams blow away many 2-3 goal leads as the leafs do.

You would think as coach he would you know, coach the players to play properly.

I love the little 1 on 1 meetings between Keefe and Dubas when they just bounce things off of each other, it was cool listening to them in episode 1 talk about the lack of scoring and how concerned they were about it, because talking to fans all youd hear is oh you’re an idiot, Matthews is a 50 goal scorer, Nylander is going to score 70 plus points, Marner close to 100, yet we still couldn’t score 5 on 5. Can’t see Kerfoot lasting the year here.

They can't score in stretches because they have no depth. So if the big boys are not clicking, there's nothing to fall back on. That's why good teams use their cap throughout the lineup. It's funny to hear that Dubas and Keefe had a conversation trying to figure out out, when The answer is Dubas screwed up the balance of the team.

He clearly does, but you can only lead the horse to water, can’t force it to drink. Pretty naive to think he hasn’t done everything he can to install it into their minds. Players have to want it and execute a

Sheldon: "We're on of the worst teams in the league on scoring off rebounds, and those are one of the most common types of goal in the playoffs."

Wow, maybe Sheldon doesn't believe we just "got goalie'd" in the playoffs

Seems like he's fully aware that the Leafs style of offense doesn't translate well into the playoffs, like a lot of us have been adamant about since the Columbus loss.

He should probably tell his buddy Dubas to start acquiring players who are not afraid of the blue paint and can actually stand their ground.

If he can't coach players up, he shouldn't be a coach.

That Keefe and Briere (goaltending coach) argument after that bad Andersen game against Calgary was literally the same argument we all had here and on other forums and the media sphere.
Don’t go there bc some here will start not thinking but believing they are better than Keefe and other NHL coaches.

Another thing I noticed, spoiler alert, at the end they zoom in on their team chart for forwards and beside the big four, only one name was on the board and that’s Soup.
Also, I find it strange that Marner seems to be the only player card on the team chart that didn’t have height and weight.

Just finished the series. I enjoyed that watch. I ain’t gonna over analyze everything like some here will.

I am glad Keefe and Campbell come off incredibly well. Spezza is a gem. Forgot how good Foligno looked at the start with us before his injury. Damn shame.

I think Dubas and Keefe took this past season into the off-season with them based on the additions we made.

Mikheyev doesn’t come off great. When Keefe pulls him into a room to show him a play, he just sorta stands there and doesn’t say anything.

I like behind the scenes stuff. Can’t get enough of it. Wish the Leafs agreed to another season. Oh well

Spezza has 'future coach' written all over him.

Pay the man until he wants to stop playing and then snatch him up again for the front office. He's a beauty.

Yeah, it's the issue with the medium that's trying to offer an insight into a team while also trying to offer an entertaining product.

A director and editor are going to be drawn to certain players/storylines that offer them more "meat". So doesn't strike me as surprising that seemingly introvert like Nylander got less attention sometimes than a chatterbox like Jumbo

You hit on an interesting note. I really did expect Willie to be more goofy but he seemed to be someone who just put in the work… while Jumbo is a bigger joker than anyone on the team. The part about asking the trainer was he a stripper… that was really funny.

If Willy says one thing wrong or has his words deliberately cut to sound worse he's gonna be in every paper with headlines about being a locker room cancer primadonna. Thornton can look directly in the camera and say he eats puppies for breakfast and no one will care.

Just watched the first episode and was surprised at how poor it was. About half of it was filler: establishing shots, stop-start video, random fans, "coming soon", and a pointless digression to Arizona. What they did show was only slightly more edgy than your typical post-game interview. I watched every game last season and so far I've learned next to nothing I didn't already know, in fact it seems a bit of a whitewash if anything.

Does it get any better?
