If I have one HUGE criticism of Rick Tocchet, it was letting Scott Allen go while hanging on to Ron McLean. Pretty much everyone here agrees with that.

That... and he’s still slow to adjust to other teams’ adjustments in game. But that can be attributed to the staff as a whole.
I agree, but when did we hire Ron McLean?

Bring them both on. Gallant as HC, Lavi as OC.

Bring back Scott Allen. Hand him a blank check with Meruelo's name on it, a sorry note, and an edible arrangement for being ****ing idiots and letting him go.
Allen is from Boston. So is Laviolette. I’d happily fire Tocchet, MacLean, and Housley and replace them with Laviolette and Allen.

Unfortunately Allen's got a job with Hershey (they snatched him up immediately) probably we won't be able to get him back. Good thought though

Allen added to Bears’ coaching staff
He’s a damn video coach. They’re not going to cock block a guy getting back behind an nhl bench.

EDIT: I guess not. I thought he signed somewhere to do video. Maybe he left that gig for the Hershey job?

Not sure what you were thinking of -- it's only part of what I meant though. If he's got a good job somewhere with a good org (seems like the Caps / Hershey is that), he might not want to come back here. Scott Allen is loyal so he's probably loyal to his new org. Also, we treated him pretty badly last time even though GMJC apparently told him to look around ahead of time (why RT / GMJC would even consider letting him go is beyond me), if he's currently in a good spot would he really come back here after how we treated him? That was a big part of my point as well.

Might as well hope though, he'd be a great part of a newly revamped coaching staff

A small team that is not tough enough, Chaka built this team the same way Dubas has except the talent level is no where near the same. What disturbs me the most is a few minutes after scoring a goal the Ducks roughed up a few Coyotes then Tyson Nash says "stay away from the rough stuff and continue the momentum ". This team needs an attitude change.

As a supporter, I've always held a "blue collar" mentality about my team wherein their giving 100% effort and playing a disciplined game generally free of mental mistakes but still losing due to a raw talent disparity is frustrating but acceptable.

The Coyotes don't feel to me like they are reaching that bar.

Just for clarity the Leaf's are on average 1/2 an inch taller and 10 lbs heavier than the Coyotes. They are not a small team.

If they don’t want to do a clean sweep of firings, just get rid of MacLean. But someone needs to go right f***ing now

if they don’t play better in the next 13 games, fire everyone, trade everyone

If they lose tonight aren’t they 1-8-1 in their last 10? That’s definitely a fire the coaching staff performance at this critical time of the season. The team acquired Taylor Hall and immediately and completely choked. It’s inexcusable.

This is the perfect time to make a change behind the bench. There’s still some daylight. Still enough runway. It’s not too late to spark something.

If the Coyotes lose tonight, and Chayka doesn’t fire Tocchet, this choke-job is 100% as much on Chayka as it is on the coaches and the players.
