Our power play wasn't great last year, but it was about where it should have been.
Right now it's higher than it should be, but dropping rapidly by the game at this point.
We're only even 15th because of how hot of a start we had on it this season.
I don't think it's anything more than the coach's pre game media availability, which happens a couple of hours prior to game time on days where there's no morning skate and he doesn't speak in the morning.

I've been waiting for him to make a Devils video for a longggggg time. Especially considering that he was SUPER HIGH on the team back in the offseason. He did a video back in the summer where he predicts the entire playoffs from first round through the finals and I think he originally had us winning the cup over Edmonton in the finals. I think he went back on that later in the offseason by picking Dallas to win the cup in the finals over us. But still pretty good stuff and high expectations from him. He's a Dallas fan.
I actually didn't know this, but apparently since January we're 9-10-2, despite the goaltending since then being around league average in comparison to how brutal it was before January. And our expected goals numbers in that time are actually down there with Chicago and the dreg of the league, despite our goaltending being about adequate in that time period lol. It looks like he's pulling that from evolving hockey in the clips. And he rips the organization for not firing Ruff at least by this morning, if not months ago. He says as a Dallas fan that he's familiar with Ruff hockey and that it starts out amazing, but he compared this to what happened at the end of his time in Dallas.
I know, I know, he's just some dumb kid with a youtube channel, right? I enjoy his content. He was really high on the Senators signing Korpisalo, which I thought was the spiciest of takes. I noticed him leaving Korpisalo off the light of worst signings on July 1st, which he latered said in one of his prediction videos that he thinks it was an amazing signing lol.
But he seems like a good kid. He's no dummy. I'm a subscriber and enjoy his videos.

Every day Ruff remains coach is an indictment on Fitz and his ability to run this team.
It's a country club in that locker room. No accountability, no adjustments, no control.
They pissed away another year of Jack's sweet heart deal, another year of ELCs.

He figures out that it's the defense but he got the reasons mostly wrong.
He blames Ruff, goes hard Marino, a little bit on Siegenthaler and the forwards...
The forwards are a problem defensively, they have been for years...they were before Lindy got here.
I take most umbrage with his analysis of Marino. The talk of Marino regression is just wrong. His 3 most common partners this season have all been kids. Bahl 417:51, Luke 326:52 and Nemec 65:37
Marino has been tagged with the baby sitter role this year. Last year his only partner was Graves 840:53 next closest was Severson at 70:39. That's the difference.
Siegenthaler is not much different, last year he played 1018:42 with Hamilton and the next closest Severson with 172:34...
This year Hamilton 252:34, Nemec 240:31 and Luke 63:39
Both Marino and Siegenthaler had good stable partners last year and this year they're being asked to herd cats...neither of those guys are good enough to be a rock for a rookie...their games didn't falter, what they are being asked to do changed dramatically.
Now I personally think it's a tough sell to blame Lindy for any of this...this was going to happen no matter who was coaching. The personnel makes pairings extremely difficult to hide anyone before injuries...add a couple injuries to veterans and your defense is held together with bubblegum.

If Ruff gets fired this season then it’s almost definitely gonna be Green who takes over.
The worst thing that can happen is Green takes over, we won enough games to make the playoffs or just barely miss ever so slightly, Green becomes the permanent replacement, and here we are again next year going through the same thing.
I’d rather squeak into the playoffs with Ruff this year (which I don’t think will happen, just hypothetically speaking her) than potentially do that with Green after Ruff is fired.
Because the devil we know (Ruff) is not as scary as the devil we don’t know (Green), though we do know that Green does suck as a head coach and has no success whatsoever as an NHL head coach.
Maybe Sarge or McGill take over? Maybe it’ll be the N. Bench version 2024, where the rest of the remaining staff are all co-coaches, along with some other rando that’s brought in, like when Peter Horachek came in after Nas took over and Hynes was fired? Do we have anyone like that on our scouting staff who have prior coaching experience? Is Claude Noel still here as a scout?

You make good points but what did he do to adjust as a coach. Oh yeah blames the media for the power play wtf ..If the team remains patient this year will pay off next yr and the next with Luke and Nemec.....Problem with Ruff is his favoritism as well and his unwillingness to sit guys where is the accountability? They roll him back out next year it's a big risk....

It's tough to sit anyone when you're dealing with so many injuries...
Think about this for a second. I honestly believe that the defense we had last year was one of, if not the best we had in 20 years.... Hamilton, Marino, Siegenthaler, Graves and Severson was the deepest we seen in forever.
A couple of weeks ago not a single one of them was on the roster. Hamilton out, siegenthaler broken foot, Marino sick or something, Severson in Columbus and Graves in Pittsburgh....
How the heck do you adjust to that?
