They waived Campbell you mean. The Woodcroft/Knoblauch "success" story is one where it really might have just been Skinner suddenly finding his game, the goaltending getting fixed as a result and the coach wasn't the problem. Skinner was horrible to begin the year.
Yeah, that's probably an old age thing on my part.

Campbell, not Skinner.

I meant to post this here...

I'm still super irritated that we had to watch this bozo Jake Reynolds on the pre-show talk about how amazing it is to get a corporate patch on their jersey that they get paid money for.

"it's such an incredible moment for our organization" "it's so much more than a patch" can we throw this goof and his dumb sneakers in the dumpster with the coaching staff? He's such a corporate souless phony.

I need Novo to ask him how the team can justify a 9% increase on season tickets. That's the only thing I ever want to hear from this phonys mouth.

Fire Lindy. Fire Green.
Get a coach who is energetic and plays to players strengths than to a fixed system (Meier RW, Jacko C,…).
Trade Bratt if possible or Holtz cus both are soft, get a bone crushing D that toughens this boys club up.
Hire the best goalie coach in the league no matter what cost and develop Schmiddo, Dawsy cus their raw talent is good enough.
Do not trade for a goalie >30, we‘ve tried that…

Lower beer prices by 50% as a way to say sorry

If they fire Lindy we are unfortunately nearly certain to get Green as interim coach. No way they will fire them both.

I want Dineen and Brylin as interim because they will get this team playing the basics again. Emphasis on protecting the puck. Winning battles. Reducing giveaways, etc.

And I think they will actually play Timo at RW

Yeah, this is where I'm at as well - would like to see Dineen and/or Brylin given a shot so that we have a clear interim head coach for the rest of the season and have full access to whatever coaches are available this offseason. Would seem to be a desirable job given how bright the future of the team looks, even if a bit of the shine has worn off this season.

It sucks too as I was genuinely rooting for Ruff. Seems like a good guy - has played in 743 games, been a head coach for 1,901 games and an assistant coach for another 560 games. So 3,204 NHL games as a player or coach (more than 39 regular seasons) and the guy is still chasing a Cup. Has to be a record or close to it. Would've been cool to see him finally win one with NJ as this is most likely his last stop, but that ship has sailed.

I’m aware. That’s not the question that was asked though.
Why would it even matter if he's just being a stenographer though? Unless you have evidence he was lying about a quote from Novo's article?

It sure as hell isn't too late to fire the coach.
Lou fired coaches with 3 and 8 games left in the season lol, albeit teams that were going to the playoffs anyway but still

Although I’m not sold on Green’s capabilities as a head coach Ruff needs to go ASAP and mayb Green could spark them and get them to the playoffs this season. And then reevaluate in the off-season.

The one thing I’ll say about Green is that he seems like one of the most genuine and overall good people in the league from everything I’ve seen and heard. Unfortunately that doesn’t equal wins.

So nothing today but a Chase Stillman puff piece by the team Twitter account.
I mean the Nemec story was pretty interesting

Because he’s asking if it’s an insider with information about Ruff’s status.

Not if it’s a quote from a beat writer who’s been in a tiff with the head coach for months.
