The drafting of this team is just trash outside of like top 3 picks which they occassionally still screw up on (RNH over Landeskog, Yakupov obviously).

Puljujarvi
Yamamoto
Bouchard
Broberg
Holloway

Bring no where near enough to nothing and Bourgault is doing nothing special in the AHL.

Obessively collect draft picks ... and proceed to draft no one all that good. Hey that Noah Dobson sure looks like a really all around D who can score too (not just play 1 dimensional hockey like Bouchard).

Development plays a huge role too. Ever wonder why every other team seems to hit on a late rounder every other draft or so? It's not a coincidence that Marino turned out well, he was developed by a competent team.

The 1-2 punch of making poor choices at the draft, then failing to develop them properly. The easiest way to remove the problem is to do a full house cleaning. Remove all the losers from upper management and actually bring in some good minds. This will not happen because even if Holland is fired, Katz is the one making decisions and will just bring in Chiaholland 3.0

Trade all their picks, this organization doesn't deserve to have him, they are just a bunch of morons, GM on down to amateur scouts. They can't draft for shit.

They spent the better part of a decade drafting players in their own backyard because nepotism. You can go back to the end of the glory days and find so, so many bad picks by this team.

It's almost statistically impossible to be this bad at drafting.

Since they waddled up to the podium to pick McDavid, they've had almost 50 draft picks and not one of the draft picks really makes any difference in wins/losses for the Oilers, and the ones too young to be up on the team, there isn't one that's blowing the doors off the AHL.

Basically 0/50 for giving McDavid and Draisaitl any help or even anything that special to look forward to.

Exhibit A: Dylan Holloway.

I'll be shocked if his development survives after how they're using him right now.

Bet hard on your golden boy 1st round pick D-Man Being the Upgrade Needed For D

Watch as he stinks up training camp

Then gets injured in a kitchen accident while in the AHL.

My question is, who's determining how he's being deployed? Coach? GM? Someone else?
I'm not disagreeing that Holloway could use a bit more ice time, But Paajarvi looked great in the preseason too. Holloway has been okay, but everyone thinking he's a Calder nominee needs to calm down,

Holland is probably sweating bullets right now.

Roster built on a house of cards, ready to come crashing down at any moment now.

And we haven’t even had the annual McFlu season yet.

Why would he sweat bullets? He likely won't be canned until we've lost a dozen in a row.

...But we'll beat the Canucks and everything will be hunky dorry.

I'm not even asking for Calder nominee but he's being wasted in his current role. Guys like McLeod should be in the bottom six, not Holloway. If you're not going to play him in a scoring role then send him down.

I said I would wait until the 40 game mark to make a call.

It is the 20 game mark so f*** it. We've shown what we are.

Holland is just showing that he talks out of his ass like every GM before him. "Not playing 5 mins a night on the 4th line" only to see Holloway playing 5 minutes a night on the 4th line.

This is after allowing Bouchard to rot in the press box for an entire f***ing year during Covid, gifting BroBERG a spot before he was ready sacrificing our 2LD position and not trading PJ when he had the chance handcuffing us cap wise this season.

Holland can just take the non working LRT to the game and be fired for not showing up on time, just like his team.

poll added.

Simple yes or no.
I'm not going to cast my vote because there's always a chance this team comes out and ravages the Islanders tomorrow, but if we're heading into December below .500 then you have to fire him. The team only lost 27 games in regulation last year. We're already 1/3 of the way there.

Guy's been here for 3.5 years, highest paid GM in the league, has made 2 good free agent signings and the rest of everything is complete dogshit. I've said it before, one day the dumber half of this fanbase will realize having 2 franchise players drag a tirefire of ineptitude to the conference finals does not retroactively make Chiarelli, Holland, or whatever f***stick Nicholson hires afterward a good GM.

What exactly are you defending when you defend Holland? That in 4 years he successfully paid the free agency tax for a couple of good players in Hyman & Ceci? Oh f***ing gee buddy, the broken clock was right twice! Plan the parade!

We could win tomorrow. There's a 97% chance it will be because McDrai willed it into existence. Changes nothing. Holland is objectively asstrash.
