Year after year the exact same weaknesses and the same inability to properly address them.

It's been a month since this thread was made and these problems still persist. We're one of the worst defensive clubs in the entire league and the offense only comes from 3 or 4 players. The team is barely hanging onto a WC spot (and wouldn't be at all according to pts%), they suck at home, and just got dummied by one of the worst road teams in the league.

I hope nobody here still thinks he's a NHL caliber GM.

I like his patience and that the org. has attempted to build from within.

The criticisms of his trades/signings and inability to secure a #1 Goalie are well-founded.
That being said, by this summer it was kind of like Georgiev, Kuemper, or Campbell. I'm not sure there is a big win he missed on (although I'd prefer Georgiev on a 2-3 over what we have!).

I guess we're all holding our breath for the moment he decides it's the season to make a big push at the deadline to fill the obvious holes in this team. If he NEVER does it in the prime-McDrai era I will regret ever supporting this guy, but as of today my vote here is No.

If the Oilers were to miss the playoffs, not sure how much blame I would put on him. I think the roster is better than what it has shown. I do think that he has held the team back from contender though. I think you have to remember that only one team wins a stanley cup out of 32 teams. Its very hard to win a cup and you need some luck.

That being said, moves need to be made to make this team competitive. Not everything a GM is going to do is going to work. So the GM has to be able to fix problems when they arise. I feel there are problems with this team beyond a surface/roster level (I am not sure what they even are). But its Hollands job to figure out what these problems are and make changes.

I just dont have much faith in Holland being able to make the changes that need to be made. I doubt hes going to win trades. If you dont have faith that the GM is going to be able to fix mistakes and/or not get bent on trades, he probably shouldnt be a GM.

He isnt that good. And he is expensive. Shore is cheap. Fogele has some needed skills. But yeah, mcDavid shouldnt be a talentscout. He couldä have better contacts.
