I’m still waiting till Game 40 to panic.

But I’m trembling already.

lol Spector getting shit on in the comments for not mention Yamamoto and Foegele have been trash too. Ultimately though that is almost $14 million in cap space that Holland decided to spend this way which is doing dick all to win enough games.

Alternative universe Holland / Hindsight 20/20 Oilers 22/23:

Don’t sign Campbell (Save 5M)
Don’t sign Janmark (Save 1.25M)
Trade Puljujaarvi for a 3rd Rd Pick (Save 3M)
Trade Foegele+2nd for Ghostisbere@50% retained (Save 500K)
Sign Comrie - 2Mx2yrs
Sign Kubalik - 2.75Mx2Yrs
Sign Kessel - 2Mx1Yr
Net Cap Difference = Save 3M which then allows us to Run a Full 23 man Roster.

Kane-McD-Kubalik
Hyman-Drai-Yamo
Holloway-Nuge-Kessel
Shore-Mcleod-Ryan

Nurse-Ceci
Ghostisbere-Bouchard
Kulak-Barrie
Murray

Comrie
Skinner

What this does for us: Gives McD a pure sniper to work with finally, improves bottom 6 scoring depth, gets rid of our 2 worst players in the playoffs in Foegele and Pool, let’s us run a Value goalie tandem that can still get the job done, pushes Kulak to the 3rd pair and upgrades our D’s mobility and puck moving to compete with the Avs. Gives us 3M cap space to work with at the trade deadline so we can further improve the team after assessing what we need during the season.
Eeeeehhh...

Yamo, Ghost and Kessel is no thank you.

Nuge McDavid Hyman
Kane Draisaitl Gourde
Fogele MacLeod Kubalik
Järnmark Holloway Ryan

Nurse Ceci
Kulak Barrie
Scouy Bouchard

Skinner
Pickard

save money on trading Campbell,Yamamoto, Puljujärvi = saving 11million.

What’s the soucy and gourde trade?

What’s the soucy and gourde trade?
What it takes.

Holloway, Broberg, Petrov, 2023 1st and 2nd.

Puljujärvi + Broberg for Gourde

Yamamoto for a 3rd 2023

that 3rd + 2023 2nd for Scouy

I think XB is the one to hold on to.
Still waiting on Holloway.
I dont know why he isnt performing

The Campbell signing was always high risk.

It did always seem like the easiest route to go as well

Holland had to sign a starter, but 5 years for a non proven #1, while we have Skinner in the wings, does seem like a big mistake

Fire this f***ing idiot. You can't let an unsustainable playoff run cloud your judgment.

No, he has to first leave us with another massive contract for Bouchard for 8x8 then he will get fired. Then, we can go back to what we know best; tanking for 1st.

This guy might be worse than Chiarelli. Chia at least created a decent defense before going full idiot mode and trading all the depth. Holland has had 4 years to improve the goaltending, defense, and scoring depth. He's 0/3, the only saving grace is Skinner, WHO IS A CHIA DRAFT PICK.

It’s safe to say he’s getting fired if they miss the playoffs. It would be the silver lining to a wasted season if that’s how this plays out.

It didn't actually cloud his judgment whatsoever. He's been making the same clown decisions since the day he got here. Just the first year alone featured lowlights like bridging Nurse straight to UFA, 4x3.2 mil for Kass, 2 2nds for AA, passing on Zegras, failing to sign Marino etc. This was why I was saying he still needed to be fired even when we made top 4. He has one of the absolute worst approaches to teambuilding in the NHL alongside Fletcher and Lou Lam. Lucky breaks like Evander Kane getting into legal trouble tend not to repeat themselves. Issues with approach and procedure however do persist.

The only NHL player he's added to the bottom six in four years is a Chia pick too haha. (McLeod)

No I mean can't cloud our judgement as in thinking that Holland is capable because the team made top 4.

I follow, the leafs as well, and as much as dubas and Holland should both be punted into the sun, i see a continued abysmal track record of hiring for both. Katz and MLSE are incompetent at hiring. Just because you get rid of Holland, doesn’t mean Katz doesn’t hire another idiot to run your team. Another observation I’ve made on Holland including his last years in Detroit, is that his drafting is horrific. His last 3 1st rd picks in Detroit were D.Cholowiski, Zadina and M.Rasmussen (2 of those inside top 10). It’s likely too early to say how Holloway or broberg turn out, but I imagine oilers fans have been more underwhelmed on this picks then overjoyed?

The most damning indictment of Holland is that the issues he was tasked with fixing from the get go(goaltending, defense, depth) are still present today. The reason everything seems alright is that he's getting insane production from Connor and Leon.
It’s amazing how Holland and dubas walked right into superstar laden teams with severe defencies at goaltending and defence, and years later, it’s still the same defencies.

Hollands draftreportouar is awful. Broberg, Holloway, XB is promising. But they dont break it.

By now, at least Broberg should be making it. Holloway is probably to raw. Hes more atlethic than living on pure talent.

Hey at least we will have our first this year for when we miss the playoffs. Big divisional match with LA and now we are 5 back after laying an egg, with the VGK wagon upcoming. Lmao

Incoming 9-10-0. Team can't be bothered to even scrape together 2 OT losses to mititage some of the stink. Just pure feast and famine.

Pretty much getting nothing from any of our "untouchable" past 4 1st round picks. Bouchard is OK but probably the wrong player to take there, Dobson is better, Bouchard right now is just basically a better Justin Schultz.

You have to get some actual nightly production from some of your top draft picks if you're going to hold the team hostage and refuse to make a large trade because you're refuse to give up a 1st round pick.

This is the same franchise that basically would rather have traded their 2nd best player at the time (Hall) because they couldn't bring themselves to trade the Puljujarvi pick.

Broberg better be a slam dunk top pairing D and fast.

Oh the Oilers need a purge from top to bottom. Not really much we can do about Katz since he literally owns the team. But we can pray for the team to purge Holland and the donkey that hired Holland and Chiarelli in Bob Nicholson. It's absolutely comical that the Oilers' best general manager in the past 2 decades is Kevin Lowe, we were unironically better off just letting the old boys club run things. At least Lowe was capable of acquiring top pairing dmen and starting goalies even if you don't agree with the price paid for them.

It wss chia that drafted Bouchard, nit Holland. And Bouchard seems like giod pick, has a hell of a shot too.
He just isnt a defensive minded D.... bad enough.

Hollands picks is Broberg, Holloway, Borg, Schaefer.
Broberg is +4 years after his draft. He may not be a bust, but its pretty awdul for a top 10 pick being still to raw. Just admit Holland, you drafted wrong.
Holloway shouldnt be that lost, acording to me. At least a 3rd liner. And Chias picks in yamamoto and pulju looks average at best, beaten out of other teams 3rd liners.
Trade them aaaaaallll.....
Like...

I would gladly put Yamamoto, pulju (having trade value) , Broberg, Holloway for win- now trades.
We waited to long on Jesse, we waited to long on Broberg, we waited to long on Bear. Trade while still having value.

Broberg+Yamamoto+ 1st for Gavrikov
Puljujärvi +Holloway + 2nd for Gourde

Nurse Ceci
Gavrikov Barrie
Kulak Bouchard

Nuge McDavid Hyman
Kane Draisaitl Gourde
Järnmark MacLeod Kostin
Fogele Ryan Shore

Is better than what they iced.
