Do you ever find yourself wondering who got banned when you see these real old accounts pop up out of nowhere?

I sure do.

Oh, is that in reference to moi? I skimmed your history and you seem to be picking fights with every second post... Seems like this place would be a bit friendlier if you were banned.

And no, never been banned, just wanted to partake in hockey talk again, but I can certainly do without the glorified trolls...

AA for 2 2nds. Not drafting Zegras, Walsted, signing Campbell will go down as his biggest disasters to date. He is about 50/50 good moves. At least better than the previous GM, Chia who was 20/80 but that's setting the bar low.
Enough with overhyped Zegras already. Broberg is shaping up to be a great pick and more needed.

Walsted can't help us now so who cares, jury is still out.

Holland good

Signing Hyman as FA - good adversity
Signing E Kane - He snagged him at least.
Snagged Barrie and maked him sign a cheap tryout contract, and resigned pretty cheap (at players real value according to me).he was thought of as a 1st pair guy, and the backup plan was Bouchard - both failed.
Resigning Nuge to a good contract
Ekholm deal- finally go for it

Average
Drafting, 1st rounders are still coming to the show, but Chias been actually better? Time will tell.
Signing Ceci, at least addressing.

Meh
Deadline deals..Kulikov, Brassard, Bjugstad etc, and those on the better scale is still pretty meh like Ennis. He got one right, Kulak, and he is a 4-5th defender.
Nurse contract, paintinghimself into a corner.
Yamamoto - 15 games good player, 45 games meh player, 20 games injured player. Lets resign him for a lot.
Poor signings the first 3 years like Jurco, Nygård- he was ok, but not more than a good 4th liner,

Bad
The Campbell signing, 5 years from the bat?? His worst move in his tenure.
AA fir two valuable 2nds.
Always throwing away 2nds everywhere.

He did have a boatload of bad contracts after Chia in Lucic, Chiasson, Koskinen, eating a lot if cap.

Biggest what if is what if Sekera and Davidson didnt got injured, Oilers would have a good 2nd pair D and a good 3rd pair defensive D.

All in all
He had a though job, sometimes to slow on the puck, like OReilly would been great, taking forever to trade Jesse, but maybe he got value?? He should had traded koskinen earlier for another goalie.
Should not sign a goalie to a 5vyear contract.

He gets 8/10 from me. He has learned some patience, and let the groyp realise it is a lot on them, and clear the room (Fogele clearlt frustrated) At lest he adresses. But slow.
If he adressed goalie situation earlier, jumped on Oreilly or Lafferty for 2014 1st, he eould been a 10.

Campbell isnhis boatnchor.

If they weren't drafting Broberg they would have drafted Boldy who is probably a better pick than Zegras anyway. We could use Boldy. Zegras not so much.

yeah, we all know he sucks

you came out of hiding for 13 years to constantly post about Jack Campbell?

The Oilers haven't been this close to Cup-worthy and had such a glaring obstacle in their path, so...maybe ;) It really looked like the fans and media were giving him all the breaks when they villified every other goalie who played even half as bad as him, but now it looks like his poor performances are getting the recognition they sorely deserve.

The last thing Oilers need is a lacrossegoal scorer. They need one more RD, and a backup goalie.

Trade Campbell+ Yamamoto for an overpaid RD. Get a cheap backup.

While we're at it, Nicholson can f*** off too...hopefully to jail, where he belongs, but the unemployment line is a good start.

Nicholson expressed regret for hiring Chiarelli as quickly as he did. The 65-year-old, who held the CEO post at Hockey Canada for 16 years and was a vice president of the IIHF prior to joining the Oilers' organization in June 2014, said he hired Chiarelli with no wide GM search, as was the norm in Edmonton.

Also, if he did five minutes of research, he would have seen that Chairelli more or less inherited the Bruins that won the Cup in 2011 and made the finals in 2013.

This offseason will be big in terms of filling out a few more holes for the duration of McDavid's contract. Upgrade on Ceci and maybe get a top 6 RW if Bourgault and Lavoie aren't ready.

You guys dont get it. There is no more cap room. That is why we need draft picks to draft and fill out thebm roster. Bouchard and MCLeod need new contracts. Need to replace Ryan, Shore, etc

Foegele, Yamamoto, Ceci, Kulak and possibly even Campbell are guys that can be moved to clear some cap.

Maybe Holland will do what no GM has ever done before...and make some trades to clear cap.

Curious to hear ideas on how Campbell gets moved. Seems like it would be hugely expensive.

Out of all of those I think I like Foegele the best. But I guess if they could sub Holloway for Foegele, I'd be okay moving all of that salary. That's a good 10+ million.

He would be the hardest and costliest. Just throwing out the possibilities.

$14M+ in contracts we can’t deploy against a top opponent or guarantee a loss. Guess which GM signed those deals again?
