Nils looked awful to me on the PP. He was way too focused on taking very low percentage long range shots rather than distributing the puck. He killed off like 20+ seconds on the 5 on 3 himself due to taking a pointless shot like that.
Lol obviously some have biased against Nils. Nils took a low percentage shot once. Jones did exactly the same thing on the 5 on 3 yet this isn’t mentioned. Nils was great making quick smart passes on the pp up to forwards so zone entries were mostly smooth. This was second game on North American ice. I guess he needs to score a couple goals for you to be satisfied? As others said his plus minus was ZERO in 2 games where the team lost 5-0 and 7-1!! He also played over 20 minutes per game. That is actually pretty tough to do. Also made a nice pass to Mika for the assist. Once Nils gets comfortable he is going to be a stud.

Will you judge me if I didn't like it and didn't finish it?

Kidding, obviously. It’s a brilliant dark comedy. You have to watch it from the right frame of mind or it isn’t going to land right. Or maybe having the right frame of mind for American Psycho is more of an indictment of me than anything. But to each their own. Not agreeing on a film isn’t some end-all be-all measuring stick, but one’s appreciation of that movie is typically a fairly good barometer of whether or not we have the same sense of humor.

Maybe as an American Psycho myself I can't appreciate the movie. ;)

Wow, it's only preseason, but that's truly embarrassing. We couldn't handle the Devils speed whatsoever. And there was just no structure, no breakouts, no puck support, no ability to cover the man without the puck in the D zone.

The only D that looked half decent was Jones. He needs to be the D who makes it over Lundkvist. I'm a big fan of that kid but he is NOT ready yet. Send him down and let him learn the right way. Jones is really smart out there.

Barron Gauthier and I dunno at least looked like they were trying.

Paju is too darn small right now.

But the rest of the team was not good.

Yes, preseason, but holy crap.

The thing I kept thinking was, if Zib, Kreids or Troubs were actually captain material, that effort would have looked a lot better.

That is all.
I thought Baron was real good early on. As the blowout got bigger, I kinda stopped focusing, though I think he was still ok.

They looked unbelievably bad. Completely chaotic and disorganized.

Don’t see how Jones doesn’t make this team. Who the hell should make it over him?

Really hoping Goodrow looks like a completely different player in the reg season. Right now he looks like he was represented by Jordan Belfort this offseason. He’s not even been an effective grinder which I assumed was the bare minimum.

Rick Carpinello from the Athletics 3 Rangers stars of the game are Jones, Lundkvist and Geertson.

Buch just scored a howitzer of a one-time SHG on fleury :(

So Buch has 2 goals & 1 assist so far in 1 & a half games lol
At least we have Blais, Goodrow & 9 million in unused cap space!
Can we give it a rest already. He's gone, so f*** him. Couldn't care less what he's doing, he isn't coming back any time soon.

Maybe you guys can make your own thread for ex-Rangers and drool over Howden and Buch and whoever. Would rather focus on the now and the future here.

Love that movie, but you’re right. You definitely need a particular sense of humor to really enjoy it.

I didn't realize he was talking about preseason. But that's a silly argument then because Buch has proven to be a good second line player most of his career and last year was a first liner. This isn't his first time scoring.

no argument he's a 1st/2nd line player on any team. it sucks we had to move him, but that was reality with where we are cap wise. in hindsight is there money we'd all rather have been allocated to him? absolutely.

but while he was a top 6 guy, he wasn't a guy who's gonna carry a top 6 line. a lot of people are upset by the return when really its not that bad, and certainly as good as we could do. the market for him was only contenders looking to add some pop to the top 6...from that group you whittle down to the ones who could also afford to take him on...thats probably 2-4 at best. we weren't getting an elite level prospect if they had one, and we surely had in mind a roster player in the return for our bottom 6. a guy like blais was probably as much as we could hope for...no contender would give up what they consider a glue guy / major contributor for them in terms of their all around game / presence. i look at the second as sort of a make whole on blais still having to prove himself as a consistent and valuable bottom 6 player - and the cap space was something we had to have. blais is a guy who has a chance to grow into a valuable bottom 6 piece...like if he can grow into a slightly bigger clutterbuck to reaves as our martin where they find a way to play that gives us a similar presence / energy as what the isles get from their identity line thats a massive win. its a gamble it works out that way given he's had issues with consistency and injuries, but he's young enough with enough talent to find out.

buch is a fantastic player. loved watching him grow here and take off and see the way his teammates acted towards him. but we have guys who are primed for the role he vacates and have a strong chance to be significantly better players than him. i was just trying to say whats done is done, there's no reason to hate blais because you hate the trade that brought him here. its a new year, time to be positive until there's a reason to lose all hope again.

Sorry to be that guy, but the Devils are rebuilding the right way. We look like we made a ton of panic moves, want to rebuild, and want to win a Cup.

Stupid game

If Gorton had traded Kreider to Dallas for Jason Robertson and a first Drury doesn’t trade Buchnevich to free up Ice time and we pick someone other than Othmann in the draft. If If If.

The Othmann pick was exactly what Ranger fans have been asking for, for years!

"Go BPA!"
"Don't reach!"
"Don't settle for need"

Othmann is exactly that. BPA.

I had to suffer through watching Hajek and Smith most of last season but Tinordi put up a performance that still left me unprepared for what I witnessed tonight. He was awful the game he played before as well, but this was a once in a lifetime performance.

Preseason is meaningless but at least Mika's one timer is already working.
