Look at the level of preparation the coaching staff does:
Well Brucie was up there yesterday saying the process is taking longer than anticipated and now says March is likely when we find out, if not later, so it seems like the whole thing is just sort of dragging on and going a bit quiet because of it.this post belongs in several threads, but of late all that is being talked about is firing of staff when new ownership arrives...
Does it not seem that things have gone real quiet??? It seems like its being a month since any story surfaced anywhere
sale process being quiet is a good thingthis post belongs in several threads, but of late all that is being talked about is firing of staff when new ownership arrives...

Could you see new mamagement keeping DJ but letting go of Dorion?
sale process being quiet is a good thing
That's why DeBrincat was brought in the help with the offensive production, he has done that with his playmaking skills & recently looks like his goal scoring could be turning up. If he starts to get it going & Norris comes back & maybe they call up Sokolov another point producer they could start making some noise. Their special teams are on fire.Playing low event hockey shouldn't mean getting destroyed 5v5, not that we actually are low event, we have the highest combine shot attempts in the league, even more recently since we started playing better we're still top 10.
Sure, we're playing tighter defensive hockey but have one of the lowest scoring teams 5v5 in the league. With the talent we have up front that's pretty disappointing.
There's no rule that you can only be good 5v5 or on special teams. If want to move forward as a team, we need to be good at both.
There will be those who look at how this good young team is built & their potential & think PD & DJ have done a good job so far with their drafting & their recent signings getting a number of their better young players under contract long term. They may give them some time to see if they can improve it & if this team can start contending for a playoff spot & more in future. Remember the summer of Pierre, then the Zub signing, next it might be Talbot then DeBrincat & those will be looked at as wins as well.no one is being fired, let go or whatever, assuming new ownership takes over before the end of the regular season……until after the Senators are finished the regular season ( don’t believe they make the playoffs).
If new ownership decides they need to replace the GM, before the entry draft, if will be done asap, if there is a candidate new ownership feels “is the guy” for them….. most likely “the guy” they want is already employed by another team, and may decide it’s best to wait until that team is also finished their season/eliminated from playoffs.
If PD is eventually let go, and DJ is not, whomever the new GM is, may decide to let DJ go during the offseason, when the GM either during the hiring process demanded to hire whom he wants as Coach, or at some point next season.

Lots of NHL players and personnel went there. Those were the days teams stayed at the Chateau Laurier.Fritomania? You're an Orleans guy. Try the sausages at Canadian Tire. They're pretty good too
I remember running into Healy at Darcy McGees on Sparks Street. God he was an ass
You all realize Norris will just get injured again right
Like Pinto? You all realize Norris will just get injured again right

Bruce's article indicated the league wanted to make sure all interested parties were fully vetted before opening up the finances. Nothing about the Sens being lateSens are late on their financial disclosure, was supposed to start early December and it still hasn’t begun.

It’s not the Sens, the holdup is the NHL as they want to vet everyone before getting financials.Sens are late on their financial disclosure, was supposed to start early December and it still hasn’t begun.
Ya that’s your made up story side. That’s one side of the story. The other side is the financial audit was supposed to start in December but the Sens weren’t ready to show the books

That sentence jogged my memory. I remember watching some of those games while having a few drinks on the beach in Roatan. Weird flashback I guess LOL.But i do remember those great Oiler Dallas games where they just seemed to open it up and they were fun to watch.
I must admit, when I heard that info from the Garrioch interview, the idea did cross my mind that I hope that there's no financial or accounting "irregularities" or something else that's problematic. I'm not basing it on anything, or suggesting there will be, but the thought crossed my mind. There's a bit of history with regulatory issues when it comes to Melnyk. It’s not the Sens, the holdup is the NHL as they want to vet everyone before getting financials.

Just before Xmas it was reported that due to the holiday season they were having trouble getting everything ready for the data room, i don't recall if it was explicitly stated that it was the sens having trouble getting stuff together or if that was just inferred but that's were it comes from. It’s not the Sens, the holdup is the NHL as they want to vet everyone before getting financials.

Looks like some beautiful beaches to watch a game from. Its nice that we can do that nowadays. I dont hear of Honduras as a vacation spot much. That sentence jogged my memory. I remember watching some of those games while having a few drinks on the beach in Roatan. Weird flashback I guess LOL.
Roatan is an island off the coast of Honduras. Quite nice and met a few ex pat Americans living there. Scuba diving was the big initial attraction, but it became more of a known destination years later. Coral reefs are nice there, hence the attraction for scuba divers, although you can see a lot just snorkeling as well. The coral is disappearing though as the oceans get warmer. Definitely well worth checking out. I've done a lot of traveling over the years - e.g., 45 countries.Looks like some beautiful beaches to watch a game from. Its nice that we can do that nowadays. Clearly, the players believe in this coach because they have bought into his message. And they have his back. When social media was full of anti-Smith rhetoric, and “Fi-re DJ!” chants rang out at a few home games, players stood up for him.
What's that expression? "Hold your breath" or something like thatPeople are finally coming around on DJ
'Meaningful games' have arrived for Senators — and D.J. Smith is a big reason why
After the ‘Summer of Pierre’ the Senators had another rough start to the season. But lately? They’re playing meaningful games and winning, something D.J. Smith has a lot to do with. The coach is working his tail off, and it shows.www.sportsnet.ca
I'm still waiting for the "Sorry DJ!" chant.
