Regarding Tkachuk, Batherson, Giroux, DeBrincat and Stü always thinking offence, I have seen VG back checking by DeBrincat and Stutzle. Tkachuk seems a bit slow coming back and has flown the D zone on occasion but I think that is caused by coaching.
Stu and DeBrincat don’t play on the same line, who is VG, Claude Giroux?

One could argue its a small sample
Could have been inflated by the acquisitions of the summer (like a new coach excitement thing)

What is more telling to me is 89-116-25 carreer record
That’s not really telling though considering we were actively tanking for draft position for 3 season straight. This is the first season where management actually wants to see some wins.

There isn’t much value looking at wins/losses without context in this particular instance.

Promote Mann to take over or Jack. Make some sort of change to atleast get the attention of the players

DJ has to go. The msg needs to be clear that this is unacceptable. Also I find it hard to believe that Dorion is allowed to make a trade move million dollar assets around but can't bring in a new coach to finish the year off
Yeah Mann. He’s had spectacular results in Belleville. Never made the playoffs.

Dude, it absolutely is. You don’t think we were trying to tank for picks after we sold everyone off? What exactly do you think the point of a rebuild is?

I mean besides the GM coming out and explaining expectations.

Do you seriously think that we have been trying to win games from a roster composition perspective for the last few years? The GM came out and said that they were trying to pick low cost character guys not based on skill…. I mean what do you think that means?

Man, I guess I can understand why you’re pissed.

"We've had a plan since we started this rebuild. I feel that we're in the next stage now, it's time to start to win," he said, according to TSN 1200 Ottawa.

That was last season sept 7 2021

Do you know what that means?lol

You said'' its the first year where management wants to see some wins''
You are wrong

Its not the end of the world you are just wrong that's all

I know you will try to spin it all you can but the facts are the facts

To quote a famous HFer:
''Man, I guess I can understand why you're pissed''

Ok fair enough, you got me on last year. That was the time when PD was derided for his rebuild is over comments because the roster still sucked.

Let’s go with starting last year. That still doesn’t support your win/loss record post now does it?

Now go have a look at the roster DJ was working with to start last season, not to mention the injury situation, and add that context to your wins/losses post.

In the end you definitely corrected me, earned and thanks, but none of that supports your comment about using DJ’s record here as some indictment of his skills as a coach so far.

There’s lots to discus and debate, that stat is meaningless at the moment for that conversation.

As for expecting wins and the rebuilding is over bit, Dorion explained himself that he meant that it was time to develop what we have picked, not that it was time to compete.

Dump and chase only works if you recover more pucks than you turn over. Usually a plan accompanies dumping it in.... Its not just throw it somewhere in there and hope we get it.

When Melnyk should have fired Dorion.. he got a 3 year extension... When Dorion should have fired DJ ...

It's a very delicate situation.

Before the season I predicted DJ wouldn't make it past November. Looks like that SOB just made it. However, if Dorion fires him tomorrow I am calling a win on my prediction.

It's only a matter of when, not if, at this point. The longer Dorion drags this experiment on the deeper hole this franchise finds itself in. If that does happen, it will be up to the local fans to run him out of town. We're counting on you Ottawa natives, don't let us down.

No imminent sale .. he'd be gone.
